Cheap and Healthy!

I've been to Vegetariano El Huerto a few times now. If you request a vegan lunch when you arrive you'll receive a soup, a rice dish and there's a self-serve salad bar there so you can cram in the nutrients. The menu is slightly different each day. It's all very simple but tasty for 15bs!

This place is only open during lunch hours only, Monday through Friday.

Vegan menu!

We were there November 2017. First of all is so cheap as I think all vegan restaurants should be.. mostly vegan and the portions are huge, I went there all days I was in oruro and some of the days I had to take some of the food in a doggy bag. Also it was very nutricional, always legumes and lots of different vegetables. Good experience!

Pros: Cheap, Healthy, Good staff

Tiny Place but with Big Portions

Definitely the kind of place that defines "hole in the wall" as there are only 2 tables. The set lunch the day I went had a big bowl of Bolivian vegetable soup with clear broth, a shredded salad, a large plate of pasta with beets, potatoes and onions, plus dessert and juice. The main dish was bland--but at least they had some hot sauce available. The price was B$12 (less than US$2). They had some vegetarian products for sale along the wall, plus pastries in the front.

Pros: large portions, convenient

Cons: very small--could get very crowded, a bit bland

Nice, tiny place with vegan options most days

This place is very nice, very cheap, and very friendly, but the daily set meal is not always vegan. They have set lunch and dinner (2-3 courses) for around 10 bolivianos (a little over a dollar). Most days, the food is either vegan, or they can make it vegan, but be sure to ask as some days it is not! When it is vegan, it is generally good.

Pros: Cheap, Good Food

Cons: Very Tiny, Not 100% Vegan
