Vegetarian food stall at the market. Sells rice noodle salad, Vietnamese yellow pancakes, fried wheat noodles and vegetables. It's towards the north west corner of the market, near the edge of the food stalls. It is one of the few stalls to have white tiles on the wall behind, opposite a soft drink stand. The women who run it don't speak English but there's a menu in English you could point to. When asking locals, say "mahope bua." Reported closed, Mar 2020.

Seems to not be vegetarian anymore?

So this stall doesn’t seem to exist in the same form. The “Vegetarian food” scribbled on a tile, which was posted on Vegan Food Quest’ Blog is no longer there at least, and they serve some meat. I showed a lady at the stall I thought it was the picture I found online of the stall and a lady working there. She said it was indeed her stall I was standing at. She seemed to understand vegetarian, and pointed out some noodles I could choose from for soup. I also showed her the B-Card in Khmer that explains what vegans eat in the local language. She nodded but then asked me if I wanted fish in the soup. I said no and then she said “oh, you don’t eat meat!” So it seemed to click then. I ate the soup but I’m not totally sure it was vegan. There is only one broth and it didn’t taste meaty, but then I wonder if they serve everyone vegetable broth? She seemed to understand me, but overall I’m not 100% confident. Anyway, it’s definitely not an all-vegetarian stall as they have some meat out front, and after I left I realized they probably cook the meat in the same water even if the broth is vegetarian? Anyway, if anyone goes that can speak some Khmer or is more pushy than me please report back! The lady was very friendly and the soup was cheap but I feel really uncertain whether what I just ate was vegetarian. :-(

Pros: Cheap , Friendly

Cons: Hard to find, Not sure if vegetarian

Worth The Search/Updated Contact Information

My girlfriend and I have eaten breakfast at the stall the last two days. The owner's name is "Eee-Tian" and is friendly as can be. We tried a couple of different soups and requested some fried noodles with my choice of ingredients with relative ease. Very little MSG used and the broths are delicious, all at a reasonable price ($3 for two people). Look for the "Bunleap Mobile Phone Shop" (No.112, St.710) outside the southwest side of the market. Go through the market entrance across the street and go all to the way back until you see the food vendors and drink shops. The stall is on the other side of a vendor selling fried foods. An easier option is approaching the market from St.717 and entering through the major entrance, which is highlighted with white Khmer characters on a big blue sign. Stall is a few meters inside. The owner plans on possibly moving to a home location next year. Phone number is 0886753758.
