Delicious, authentic, inexpensive, & plant-based

This small-but-mighty eatery is not to be missed. The mother-and-daughters operation serves highly flavorful Thai Buddhist cuisine that is authentically prepared and plant-based (I asked them to be sure, and they said no meat, eggs, or dairy products).

There's good variety in the buffet, with the selection changing daily to keep things interesting. Usually there's at least one noodle dish, several faux-meat items, and a number of whole-veggie offerings (the latter making it a good choice for people who aren't into mock meats). There was even one vegetable i'd never encountered before in all my years eating in Thailand, which is always fun.

I sampled at least nine different items during my visit to Phuket and everything was delicious. A plate of rice with a serving each of three different veggie items cost 50-75 Baht (a little more for the faux "fish," which was uncommonly good).

It's open till 5 daily, and fortunately the food in the heated area of the buffet table stays reasonably hot so even if you get there later in the day it should be fine. I made a habit of having an early (11ish) lunch and then coming back for an early (5ish) dinner.

Note there are no drinks served (other than water), so i would often grab a fresh coconut elsewhere before coming for a meal.

Regarding the location: The marker on the HappyCow map was in the wrong place, so it's no wonder the earlier reviewer couldn't find it. I sent HappyCow the correct coordinates so hopefully it'll be fixed by the time you read this. Just to be sure: It's at 38/50 Nanai Road, which is about 300 steps south of the Sainamyen Road crossing, near Kelly's Hotel (but on the opposite side of the street). Look for the yellow banners.

Pros: Delicious, authentic, varied, great value, all vegan!

Couldn't find it

I went there in Feb 13 but I couldn't find it. I asked many local people where is it located but they were unable to help me out. Restaurant could at least hang out some veggie sign for non locals.

Hi Kris, i noticed you left a review saying only that you couldn't find this restaurant. I couldn't either at first, because it turns out the marker on the HappyCow map was in the wrong place (i've sent them the correct coordinates so it should be fixed).

Since the mistake on the HappyCow map was not the restaurant's fault, perhaps you would consider deleting/changing your two-star review so that the restaurant's reputation is not dinged unfairly...?

One vegetable dish with rice for THB 35 (US$1) , two with rice for THB 40 (US$1.30). Soup and rice noodles also available and also a variety of meat substitutes. Actually I submitted this place and the correct address is 38/40 not 35/40 Nanai Rd, Phuket.

Pros: Good value, Friendly staff
Cons: Some Spicy Dishes
