Very POPULAR Veg*n Eatery for Veg*n & Non-Veg - Edit
VHF's Assam Fish was recommended by Veg*n Food Blogger - Veggies Bun when we were having an awesome dinner at 8 Treasures Vegetarian Restaurant. Went back for their Claypot Assam Fish again ...
Read moreFor this piping hot Vegetarian Claypot Assam Fish, it has a complex taste - sweet and sour curry with few thick slices of mock fish with tomato, okra, egg plants, pineapple etc.Served with steamed rice and papadum.
The curry is thick, flavourful and not oily, therefore it paired well with steamed white rice. The spiciness and sourness makes this dish real appetizing. But this time round, the turmeric was a little overpowering. The after effect is - turmeric taste in the mouth, as my taste bud is rather sensitive to this.
Just S$4.50 for a Claypot Assam fish with steamed rice and papadum, it is value for money. This piping hot dish was served in claypot to retain the temperature as hot food is more appetizing. The friendly considerate staff placed the hot claypot in a bamboo basket (wrapped with aluminium foil) and even place on a plate for easy handling.
What I like:
I love this Eatery because of its reasonable priced items in their wide menu selection - Japanese Bento Set, Special Handmade China Ramen (China Chef making on the spot), Western Food like Fish & Chip, Steak etc, Mixed Rice, Chinese Daily Soup or Herbal Soup and assorted local favourite like Mee Siam, Mee Rebus, Laksa, Wonton Mee, Porridge, Claypot dishes like Claypot Noodle, Claypot Assam Fish, Hotplate dishes and many more ...
You are so pamper with choices and you can order anything you want under one roof here on a daily basis, but you need to go early and late in the evening where most stuff are sold off already. And the friendly staff allows the customer to spend the time they need to decide what to order.
Must Tries: Mock Char Siew, Claypot Dishes, Yong Tau Fo
Pros: Excellent Food, good value, Friendly Staff
