mmmmm carrot cake

4 Posted on 11 / 21 / 2012

i treated myself to a piece of the carrot cake here last week & it was absolutely delicious!
as well as some tasty looking cakes theres also a selection of vegan burgers.
the girl wasnt too friendly though which always makes the experience for me less positive.. maybe it was because i asked if she could speak english before trying to speak spanish? who knows... if it was served with a smile id recommend this place more highly. still tasty though!

Pros: yum!
Cons: not that cheap, not the friendliest

What A Find! Bakery and More

4 Posted on 08 / 18 / 2012

I stumbled across this place and it was one of the best food discoveries on the trip. Unlike the title may make you think, it is not just a bakery. They have great meal choices too. Simple and delicious. The owner is a really friendly young woman who is clearly passionate about veganism and good food. She was a bit punk too which was great! What I originally ordered and what I ended up having room for was a bit different (so easy to overestimate one's ability to eat three courses) and she charged me for less, unnecessary and very generous. The "burger" with salad I had was really tasty and moist. The cupcake terrific and the freshly squeezed juices so refreshing. Nice tables to eat outside. Great healthy and tasty food and a really nice vibe.

Pros: Food, Healthy, Vibe

Definitely worth the trip. Great selection of vegan cakes, cupcakes, and pastries. Also has coffee, sandwiches, and other food. On a very cute street with artists and craft vendors.

Delicious!

5 Posted on 07 / 11 / 2012

I went along to Vegan Bakery to try it out last Sunday (yes - open on a Sunday!). They were selling burgers, salads and juices, as well as cupcakes, slices of cake and chocolate bars. Everything looked simply delicious. Unlike many other veggie restaurants which we visited in Barcelona, there was no English menu available, so there was a bit of guessing involved in choosing the cupcakes, but they were delicious, whatever flavour they were! The icing on them was so fluffy I'd love to know what the baker used. Absolutely a must visit for any vegan in Barcelona.

It's also worth noting that it has an entrance both at 19 Carrer d'Allada Vermell and on a parallel street at 22 Carrer d'En Tantarantana (which was closed when we visited), so if it looks open, but the door is shut, go around the other side. Enjoy!

Pros: Great variety, Delicioius, Friendly staff
