Disinterested staff

Store in a great location in Amsterdam with a good selection of vegan products.

Unfortunately the staff wasn't friendly and payed us no attention. A friendly welcome feeling would have been enough.

Because of the "service" we didn't eat there, only bought snacks.

Pros: good location
Cons: unfriendly staff , not 100% vegan

Great veggie food store + café

5 Posted on 08 / 31 / 2014

A great place for veggie food shopping and a good addition to "Vegalife" with their mainly non-food items (they are in walking distance). The "Vegabond" shop is not large, but they have a good selection of vegan products (and some non-vegan ones). The little café is nice and cozy. Friendly staff.

Pros: good variety of products, friendly staff
Cons: not all-vegan

What a nice veggie shop!

This shop is a heaven for vegans in Amsterdam. They have a huge choice of vegan products: sweets, snack bars, faux-meat, cheeses, Linda McCartney dishes, ice creams (with great flavours!) and so on. Everything you need as a vegan. Moreover, the place is beautiful with the view over the canal and the staff is really friendly and helpful. It's not 100% vegan since they sell some products with cheese (some McCartney dishes) or eggs (quorn) but they are planning to become 100% vegan.

Pros: great choices of vegan products, very friendly staff and good service, pleasant place and location
Cons: not 100% vegan, but I believe it will change

Friendly service, great selection

Lovely open and clean shop. Great selection. Staff were so kind letting my children go to the toilet - no %0c charge like so many places around! Bought a few unusual bits and pieces. Pity we'd just had coffee as would loved to have stopped in their mini-cafe and watched the world go by!

Pros: Large selection, Friendly service

Great selection for vegans

5 Posted on 07 / 28 / 2014

This is a paradise for vegans! A lovely shop with friendly staff which is much larger than it looks from the outside, which has products ranging from vegan cheeses and ice-creams, to tofu and seitan, Linda McCartney and Amy's items, raw crackers, chocolates and snack bars, pasta, nut butters, soups and even mugs. The shop is completely vegetarian and I recently met the owner who said that they are working on going 100% vegan. The bread and vegetables are organic and there are also many gluten-free items. I particularly like that they support local businesses, such as the independent creator of the raw chocolates. Within the shop is a fully-vegan cafe, which offers lunch and snacks, with a seating area overlooking the canal. Definitely worth a visit.

very nice store!

Ah, what a great little place! It's small but has many great items, vegan ice cream from Dr. Grunschnabel, veg / vegan deep frozen products from Linda McCartney and other great meat replacement things.
Also good selection of wine, I always buy a small bottle of Prosecco, hmmmmm!
You can get snacks and great soups and fantastic drinks / juices there too.
I would have wished that the sitting area was less "alternative". Some proper tables with nice chairs would have been great and fit the very posh store design better. But maybe that's just me, I like nice, clean, proper places with a polished design

Pros: great assortment, many good vegan products, nice location
Cons: eating there a bit uncomfortable, girl who served looked messy

Wonderful store

This store is the best! They stock all kinds of rare products like Linda McCartney frozen dinners, Wilmersburger vegan cheese and many many chocolates and candy bars. Vegan products are marked with a green price sticker (vegetarian stuff has a white sticker. The owner is super nice.
They have an area by the window overlooking the canal where you can sit and relax with your juice and cupcake that you got from the 'take away' section.
