not vegetarian anymore

Veg Out was vegetarian, but it moved a few doors down, changed its name to Veggie Time, and added prawns etc to its menu. Please change the listing to 'vegetarian options'. Although if a place thinks seafood is a plant I am generally sus about everything they serve, so I don't eat there anymore.

Cons: not vegetarian, thinks seafood is a plant, should rate 1 because no longer veg

Decent range, good flavours, large serves and cheap price!
A dinner plate with rice and 2 mains from the bain-marie is only $9.50
Only one of the items on offer was non-Vegan (lacto-vegetarian)

Pros: Taste, Size, Price

Scrumptious lunch and dinner bar

This place is great for a quick meal. Wholesome, delicious, satisfying, fast and budget priced. There is a big range of ready made dishes in the bain marie, and it all looked fresh and delicious. The chef was constantly cooking replacement food as there was a high turnover of people coming through. The dishes ranged in variety and flavour and from mild to hot. I had the hot Thai green curry which was superbly hot and spicy but not overdone - still edible by a westerner! All the veggies were cooked to a perfect degree of tender-crispiness. The Thai basil tofu was the best one we tried. The pumpkin curry was delicious but quite sweet. The stir fried veggies were a simple complement to the other stronger flavoured dishes. They also had a gorgeous looking menu of made to order dishes which all looked very enticing. Looking forward to my next visit.

Pros: Mostly vegan (look out for eggs), Delicious and fresh, Fast service and budget prices

Vegan heaven

For a quick vegan take-away or dining outside on the footpath (with dogs) watching eclectic St Kilda pass by; this place is hard to beat. I am addicted to the yellow curry with tofu and mushroom (silky tofu with hints of cinnamon/nutmeg in sweet coconut) and eggplant masala (high on tomato) on nutty brown rice. Good prices, friendly service and nice position to walk to beach for sunset.

Pros: delicious food - many vegan options, reasonable prices, variety of dishes/cuisines
Cons: unatmospheric indoor dining

Great for a quick, late night take out! Lots of vegan options for mains, and the snacks (roti, samosas, etc.) are lovely. May be a little high in msg though? Cheap and tasty.

Pros: Value for money, Convenient
Cons: Cheap-tasting sometimes

Impressive take away

This place is a true gem. The food is about 90% vegan, and marked where it isn't. The Thai was very flavourful and great value for money. At times almost TOO flavourful (rich in coconut milk) but that's a minor quibble. This resto is really worth a visit. Nothing flash in terms of atmosphere, but great cheap food.

Pros: Huge portions

Other than the lack of tasty vegan desserts (fruit crumble and fruit salad just don't cut it), this restaurant is one of my favourites. The brown rice with two dishes deal is a great value and all the (vegan) dishes are amazing.

Pros: delicious, good value, great atmosphere
Cons: no gourmet vegan desserts
