So deliciously yummy! Really great options for vegan sushi rolls and also many full vegan dinner meals. We started with the Agedashi (gingered tofu) appetizer and split a veganised Tomo Salad (No shrimp). Then we went for a multitude of build your own rolls, and a couple of straight off the menu vegan rolls. For build your own you have all the great veggie choices, plus braised tofu and tempeh. Off the menu there are a few yummy pre thought out basic vegan rolls. We got the East West and the Arcata (minus the cream cheese) and the Ume Q (cucumber & plum paste) plus the Buddha Belly (tofu, broccolli, carrot, almond butter). We built rolls with all kinds of combos, from avocado to pickled beet, and it was actually tough to decide on what combos to make. If it will fit in a roll, they'll put it in, so your combo choices feel nearly endless. Also ordered Inari, a vegan tofu skin wrapped around sticky rice to make a kind of rice tofu pocket. Also would recommend the sweet dessert roll.
And with your meal - have a Tomo Dachi (Good Friends), a warm Saki/Plum Wine mix. Strong and Dee-lish! Highly recommended for lunch or dinner or for a quick stop in to go. We ended up getting about 8 rolls to split, Inari, and Tomo Dachi and left for the two of us for around $40, with about 3 full rolls worth left to take home for later. I suppose our eyes were a bit bigger than our stomachs in that menu perusal - not a big problem.
Unfortunately - these folks do serve traditional sushi, so lots of folks around you will be eating flesh, but in all, the experience wasn't smelly or creepy. The great food outdid any negative issues for a non veg restaurant.
Friendly and competent staff also, lively but relaxed vibe. Gets pretty busy but you're still able;e to have an intimate conversation.
Cons: serves non veg also
