Lots of veggie food!

Posted on 05 / 23 / 2014

Went for the all-you-can-eat dinner buffet. Many vegetarian and vegan options the owner clearly marks for you with colourful post-its. Owner understands vegetarianism and veganism well, and will check again what you do and do not eat before he marks the dishes. Owner knows of bonito flakes and fish broth and will not mark dishes with such ingredients as veggie. So you can safely stuff yourself with lots of veggie foods! Go with an empty stomach. There were about 10 vegan options when I went. Always vegan curry available.

You have to pay separately for dessert (except for ozenzai), but we got it on the house!

Pros: Lots of veggie options, All-you-can-eat, Veggie food clearly marked with post-its
Cons: Not completely veggie resto, Pay extra for dessert

Yummy vegan food and helpful staff

Posted on 11 / 09 / 2013

I went for lunch and dinner in the same day, and both times someone walked through the dishes and pointed out the vegan ones for me.
I went for lunch intending to eat from the buffet, but there were only a few options so the cashier suggested I do the cheaper bento (boxed lunch)offer, and she made one up of the dishes I could eat.

The dinner buffet had more vegan options. They made a special vegetable stir fry for me. I left stuffed!

Pros: Vegan options available., Helpful and accomodating staff.
Cons: You might have to wait to be seated.

Lovely food, people and atmosphere

Firstly, contradictory to what it states above, the vegan/vegeterian food is NOT clearly marked, unless you happen to read Japanese! But the owners were incredibly friendly and actually went around the whole buffet marking everything that was not suitable for us. The gentleman who runs the place knows the difference between vegan and vegeterian, and can speak enough English that non-Japanese speakers can feel comfortable communicating their needs.
The evening all-you-can-eat buffet is 1600 yen per person and includes unlimited drinks. There is a huge range of food, including rices, vegetables (fried, cold, in sauce etc), tempura, curry sauces, potato salads, breads, fruit, pasta and more! There are soft drinks such as grape and orange juice, as well as tea and coffee.
Considering this is the only vegeterian place listed in Nagasaki I would thoroughly recommend checking it out if you are in the area as you will leave completely stuffed and satisfied! One of the evenings we even had live piano music.

NOTE: the map on here is pointing to the wrong location. Look for VIctoria Inn Nagasaki on the map a few roads down. The restaurant is up the stairs next to this hotel.

Pros: Big portions, Nice vibe, Friendly staff
