No longer 100% Vegetarian

this place is now called the Saigon Restaurant according to the menus outside which include vegetarian and non-vegetarian versions. The guy there tried to tell me that the meat menu is for their other restaurant a couple of doors down across the alley but i'm sure if you ordered it you could have meat at this supposed vegetarian place. The only all-veg place in this area now that we could find is Zen. All the restaurants in this area seem to have vegetarian menu sections, so no need to eat here at what used to be a Buddhist veg place, but is now just like everywhere else (except Zen).

Cons: not all vegetarian, smokers

Atmosphere good - food mediocre.

An OK place to drink iced coffee & to work on your laptop - plenty of WiFi access in the area. "Old-timers" will remember the court cases over the use of the name. The best cooks did not win! Have had very mixed luck with the food - a few heavily oversalted / poorly cooked dishes. The cooks do not seem to have their hearts in their work. The "in-charge" shrugged his shoulders when I told him about it. Serving staff are very friendly. Food is a little more expensive & smaller portions than the veggie place next door An Lac Chay. Has clean rooms to rent by the day / by the month.

Pros: Good coffee, Late opening
Cons: Unexciting cooking

Breakfast Review

We only sampled breakfast but for what its worth here's my two cents. I had the thai noodles which were very tasty, came with egg and vegies - fresh, hot and tasty. My partner had bread and fried eggs and coffee which were fine. We found the price reasonable and the staff friendly enough. We were planning to go back and sample more but discovered Margaritas Mexican Restaurant across the street and their tasty bean and vegie fajitas (which come highly recommended). Overall, the food was not remarkable but good and we would have gone back to sample more here if had another day or two in HCMC.

Pros: Large menu selection, 100% vegie
Cons: Didnt try enough to say

After days of not having proper meal at Mekong Delta, it is a bliss to have the vege broth noodle.
Breakfast choices are limited.
It is situated right opposite to the temple and have roof top dinning area.

Pros: Friendly staff, Location
Cons: Small portion

I also think that this is the better of the veggies cafe's in this vicinity, it's the usual canteen type of place. The braised tofu in a clay pot was nice. I also liked the garlic fried rice and rice in a pineapple, It was always quite busy(including vietnamese customers.). I didn't try the mock meat dishes here though.

Pros: Polite staff, Cheap
Cons: Not atmospheric

A Mixed Bag

Bodhi is really a mixed bag. Some of their food is delicious, and their shakes are great. Also try the noodle soup in the morning. We also had some hideous food, however. Stay AWAY from the mock chicken. Not tasty at all, and we love mock meat generally. By the way, worth noting that there are four or five other restaurants on this street that are fully or mostly vegetarian...
