Pancakes, colouring and jazz

We went in on a Sunday lunchtime and just so happened they had a jazz duo playing, who were amazing! Liked the pancakes, great tofu omelette on hash browns thing, that was so tasty!
And you can draw on the tables which is fun

Rude attitude

Just went here with my girlfriend. It was pouring out and we hoped to get some dessert before heading home. The owner took his time greeting us and had an attitude when we asked to just see the dessert menu. When hearing we just wanted to share cake he said rudely “fine this time, but this is a restaurant.” There were many free tables. Most people were just sitting with coffee or wine and one woman was working on her laptop. We were the only POC in the restaurant and the situation felt discriminatory. We ended up leaving. Other one star reviews have validated our terrible experience at this restaurant. I, as a vegan, love supporting vegan establishments but this is not one I will be supporting.

Excellent Food for Vegans

The food here is excellent. I really enjoyed the Seitan Philly Steak Sandwich. The vegan chocolate cake is to die for. The waiter is a bit impatient at times re dietary needs.

Abundance of flavor

I kept wanting to come and not making it so this was my first time at OG and it didn't disappoint. Me and my husband had a rainbow lasagna, chili, corn bread, lava cake and cashew mousse. The lasagna was my favorite. It had a blast of flavor. All the veggies worked amazingly well while somehow keeping individual flavors. The kale base was to die for. Chili had subtle flavors and was filling. The corn bread was not too sweet. Lava cake was to quote my husband "chocolate lovers dream." I am not a chocolate lover but he is so take his word for it. Cashew cream was good.

Kambocha was subtle and because they didn't have full serving they comped us. Cider comes in half liter bottle.

Excited to return and try other stuff.

Pros: Flavor, Choices, Service

Yummy and friendly

There's a lot of good vegan options in this neighborhood, but this is definitely worth a trip. The Mac & cheese balls were really delicious, maybe the best of that kind of dish I've had. The fried oyster mushroom sandwich was also good, though it could have maybe used some more veggies. My partner loved her risotto. We also got dessert and the cheesecake was great. The service was slightly slow - it was Friday evening - but really friendly. Prices are typical for Manhattan. They had wine and beer but those prices were really extreme. They had a great tea selection.
One unexpected benefit was some really lovely live music, which they have several times per week.

Excellent vegan food

This is a laid back place with good -tasting food, friendly service, and healthy. They have a fun contest in which if you can eat three of their vegan burgers plus fries in 10 minutes, you get the meal for free (otherwise, you pay for the meal). While I was there, a husky guy tried it and almost finished the meal--though not quite (they gave him the prize anyway). For most people, one of the burgers will be more than filling enough.

UPDATE: I visited them for the first time in their new location. I liked this restaurant in their earlier locale, but they definitely upped their game, and now I like them even better! I raised my rating from 4 to 5 stars as a result.

Cute restaurant

Staff was really nice. options are soooo good. Could've eaten everything. Had a sandwich and cake. Both was (really) good. Personally would've liked more spice on the sandwich. Cake wasn't my favourite - bit too dry for my liking. Loved the colouring papers

Vegan food with a side of comedy!

Loved OG and highly recommend going when you can catch the stand up comedy show there with all vegan comics! We ordered the Mac & Cheese Bombs, OGicken Tenders, Loaded MexiCali Fries, SHAWARMA over RICE PLATTER, a “Cheez Whiz” Philly cheesesteak and the special soup of the day Broccoli Cheddar... favs were the OGicken Tenders, Philly cheesesteak and the soup was also good! Everyone seems to rave about the Mac & Cheese Bombs but for us they were our least favorite. Comedy nights sell out, it's a small space so reservations are a good idea, the owners are a super nice husband & wife team who make sure everyone has a great experience.

Went back for a Vegans Got Talent show and tried the Philly Cheesesteak I had heard rave reviews about and it was delicious, a tad messy as expected but worth it, so tasty! Also got the peanut butter chocolate cheesecake and loved that too, it was actually quite light and fluffy, loved the flavor!

Wonderful housemade food in a lovely space

The new space on W. 3rd St. is so much lovelier than you would guess from the outside! It's cozy, warm and inviting, and I love that they have live music most nights. The food is lovingly made and so delicious! Some of my go-tos are the cheese plate (they make their own cashew cheese, and it's so good), the Triple J Pulled Jackfruit Sandwich, the Original OG Burger with added Spirulina Cashew Cheese, the Kung Pao Cauliflower Pops, the Mac & Cheese Pops, and the cornbread. I keep meaning to try their bowls, but I always get pulled back into their comfort food! I'm so glad they moved to a location that's much easier for me to get to and are continuing to make their delicious vegan food.

Pros: Lovely space, Delicious, housemade vegan food, Live music

Average at best

Based on other reviews I had high hopes for this restaurant. Unfortunately it was nothing special. The burger was decent but I’ve had better. They serve it with about a tablespoon of sauerkraut and a pickle. Terrible. The cauliflower appetizer was the best thing going for them. The truffle dessert has basic and not worth the calories. I left feeling unsatisfied.

Hello ! Sorry you had this experience. I was working all day yesterday and pretty sure I was attending your table. I always ask how is food and if you are satisfied. If you were not , all you had to do was to say it was not up to your expectations. We would refund you immediately. We can still do that. Please call the restaurant on Tuesday and we will do that . Thanks for your feedback. I would be interested talking to you further about details so we could improve.

Excellent Food and Service

I had not been to The Organic Grill since 2018, when it was at the First Avenue, East Village location. I must say, I am quite impressed with the new (and as far as I'm concerned, improved) version on West 3rd.
The space is modern, with clean lines and a warm, inviting ambiance. The entire staff is attentive, and the menu is impressive, with many of the same items I recall from the 1st Avenue location.
I had their tofu scramble (more like a re-imagined crepe, made from silken tofu, filled with veggies)along with a side of greens. French press Colombian coffee and the raw tiramisu (sweetened with dates - no sugar) topped off a very satisfying and healthy meal.

Fabulous made in-house food. Had the Kung Pao cauliflower pops - good spice level, perfect texture; the crispy OGicken' ( mushroom) sandwich, - great flavors and texture; and ice cream balls - creamy, yummy and perfect size to finish our meal. All delicious!! A must go to place for vegans and wanna be vegans!

So so good exceeded expectations

A must! We had the Green Machine burger and the Pulled bbq jackfruit sandwich. Both excellent. The food looked so good and we horked it down so unfortunately no pics. But we’re attaching their delish sounding Christmas dinner menu! Wish we were in NY to order it.

My new favorite

Small friendly place with exquisite comfort food. Incredible burgers. "Chicken" sandwich of fried oyster mushroom was perfect. Little side touch of kraut and pickle were perfect tangy bite to compliment sandwiches. Try the Mac & cheese bombs and the Buffalo cauliflower bites.

I LOVE the Organic Grill. It’s cozy and the food is delicious.

These are some of my favorite dishes:
• loaded sweet potato fries
• Green Machine Veggie burger
• Green Melt
• Mac and Cheese bombs
• Kung Pao Cauliflower pops

Everything is super satisfying, none of it tastes overly processed. One of the best places in NYC.
