Montali is a small B&B situated on a picturesque Umbrian hilltop. My wife and I are not B&B people. Truth be told, we hate B&Bs. But from the moment we arrived at Montali, Alberto and his staff made us feel like family.
If she wanted to, Malu could open a world-class vegetarian restaurant in New York or San Francisco. The 10km drive up the unpaved road is well-worth the trip. Most of the guests who we met--even though they were not vegetarian--were repeat customers. The chefs we met (who came from all over the world to study with Malu) were not vegetarian chefs.
The food is just that good.
Go for the sunset. Stay for the dessert.
