The best Indian food in Siem Reap! - Edit
My boyfriend and I discovered Taj Mahal very early into our trip to Siem Reap and soon returned countless times. Chana Masala (chickpeas) was a personal favourite, while vegetable curry also great! The best garlic naan I’ve ever had. A quieter restaurant at the end of Sok San Road with a relaxed atmosphere and attentive staff. Would definitely recommend.

Great Indian Food - Edit
I had the aloo gobi and the vegetable biryani. Both were incredibly flavorful. The aloo gobi was a bit different than any other I’ve had. I’m accustomed to a more creamy base of blended tomatoes, onions, ginger, etc. but this was more of a deconstructed dish. Very good. A bit pricey by Cambodian standards, but the portions were large and well worth it.

Authentical indian food - Edit
Delicious and authentical indian food with huge portions and a big variety of sauces. Everything was tasty. They have a menu with a special vegetarian section which is pretty large and helpful.

Absolutely delicious, with huge portions - Edit
Food was absolutely delicious, with massive portions so unfortunately we left a lot after us. The waiter was very helpful in identifying what was vegan (at least 15/20 options) and the food was excellent. Highly recommend 😊

So much food - Edit
You really get your bang for your buck here! The food was delicious. I loved the potato pakora, naan, and so much more. The waiter was great in letting us know what was vegan and what was not. Would come here if I was craving Indian food again!

Five star - Edit
Frustrating that I can’t give this restaurant five starts because despite the fact they do serve meat this food really is five star. Curries delicious and pakora amazing and some of the best Indian food I have had and THE best in SEA. Large portions so order carefully

tasty but raised prices! - Edit
i went there for my love of indian food but also cuz the
Read moreprices looked so cheap(according to the pic here of the menu). sadly they added $1.50 to everything and vegetable dishes don't include rice anymore! so all the under $4 dishes are like $6(after you buy rice). I just make a note of that to let travelers know what to expect. So i just ordered samosas. the owner asked me if i wanted to 'order food' after i just ordered the samosas? maybe he was grumpy cuz i woke him up.(the service was asleep on a bed in the corner at 2:00 in the afternoon. LOL!)
BUT, the samosas and all the pickled condiments that came with we're REALLY good! i will go back and try more!
Pros: tasty food!, cool, dark bar'ish atmosphere
Cons: ***inaccurate prices on line

Good - Edit
The owner understands what vegan food is and is very helpful. The food is good and decent portions (but I wouldnt say huge as below). He can make most of the vege curries vegan and two of the breads are vegan. The owner gave us drinking water but it tasted a bit weird...

sooooo good and inexpensive - Edit
The food is HUGE and tasty! I recommend the chickpea curry, it was fantastic. The food isn’t salty at all (as in other Indian restaurants I’d tried lately). The owner knows about veganism so he’ll help you with your choice and the best part is that you can get vegan garlic naan. The prices are really great, I didn’t pay more that 2.75 for any of my dishes.

Indian which hits the spot! - Edit
This place exceeded all expectations. Owner knows exactly what can be made vegan and we were reassured that everything was prepared with no diary (ghee, butter or milk). We ordered the aloo gobi (cauli & potato), ginger daal, 2x tandoori roti and 2x steam rice. The portions are generous, especially the rice. The daal is pretty oil-free, the aloo gobi not so much. All super delicious - will be visiting here again.

Tasty Indian in Siem Reap! - Edit
A hidden gem away from the bustle of the Main Street! We ordered the recommended onion pakora- YUM! They were almost like onion rings. Then we split the aloo Matarr (spelling may be incorrect) which was a potato and green pea based dish, and some homemade garlic flatbread (like naan, only a vegan version, the name has slipped my memory). All were absolutely delicious! We got the aloo matarr a little too spicy though! We will be going back to try some other things for sure! Lots of vegan options and the guy who took our order was very helpful and accommodating! Fluent English, too! There was also 0.50$ Draft beer... although we didn't try it, cheap beer is always a plus!! I would give 5-stars but the system won't allow it for veg-friendly!

Best Samosa and Pakora I've ever had - Edit
This review is coming from someone who eats at a lot of Indian restaurants when given the opportunity (travel, visit to a larger city). My wife and I had mixed vegetable samosas with onion pakora. Best I've ever had. For our mains, we had Chana masala and Aloo Gobi. Huge portions! The service was absolutely top notch and the owners son jumped in to help out. Cute little guy. We're only in Siem Reap for 4 nights but we're coming back for dinner. The only problem was the servings were so huge so we had too much food. Not necessarily a bad thing. The papadams with 4 sauces that came out were great too.

Solid good indian food - Edit
We had each a solid and good Thali here. Teast was nice (specialy the naan) but not crazy amazing. The amount looked small but it was very filling. For indian food it took a while to come but it was freshly made and you could put special orders like how spicy it should be.
Read moreAll in all a very good place for simple eating when you have some time.
Pros: Fair amount of choices, Good teast, Can make take out
Cons: A bit slow, Food didn't look great (but teast was good), Simple eatery

Tasty Vegan meals - Edit
I enjoyed a number of various vegan meals at the Taj Mahal during my visit in July 2015. The main dishes, the breads, and samosas were all vegan or veganised for me. I found them very tasty. Nice friendly service also. I returned a number of times during my week in Siem Reap.

Tasty, big portions! - Edit
A terrific option for veggies. True Indian place. So, while not vegetarian, there are numerous veggie options, and they're actually listed first in the menu!
Read moreIt is perhaps a bit on the pricey side, but definitely in the normal range for SR. I had the veg thali, which is $5, but which I should also mention is very big! I have had thalis before that looked miniature in comparison. I'd say it equalled 3 small Indian portions that I have sometimes received in SE Asia.
And it was very good, on balance -- two of the items were very well seasoned and delicious, while two were a bit in need of less salt and more other spices. The spiciness (hotness) level was on the head for what I requested. So the worst of what I had was simply just in need of more spices, while the best was truly lovely.
It took a little while for it to come out, but it also seemed quite freshly made.
And the folks seemed nice! So I recommend it heartily -- I am giving it the highest rating (4) for a non-veg place.
Pros: Tasty, Big portions, Nice people
Cons: A bit pricey (but big portions)
