BEST CHAAT! (iykyk)

Surati Farsan Mart in L.A/ Artesia is LEGENDARY for its chaat (Indian street food/ snacks), so we just had to visit the San Diego location a week later on our SoCal travels!

This location is WAY more convenient to dine-in, quieter with plenty of seating space.. also much less chaotic 😅😅 Sit down with the whole fam and enjoy a nice Indian meal here! The menu winners for us were most definitely the Pani Puri and the Sev Puri chaats. Absolutely fresh, authentic and reminded us of street food back home!

🌟TOP TIP🌟If ordering chaat, I highly recommend you get your condiments on the side!! We forgot to do this - and while still delicious, our chaats were a bit too spicy, even for our seasoned palates!! 🥵 #Veganuary

Pros: Ask for the separate vegan menu!

Cons: Watch out for dairy (ghee, butter and yogurt)

India Snacks with Vegan Menu

Lots to choose from on the vegan menu. Chaats tend to run sweet, but these are some of the best priced, vegan-verified, dosas to be found in San Diego.

Pros: Vegan menu

Quality food, nice ambiance. Stellar place.

This small place has great food based on western and southern Indian vegetarian cuisines. Lots of variety, though their website may make you
think that 'sweets and snacks' is their focus. We've sampled a few of these
but have been focused on the dine-in fare, and have always found the
food excellent (visited about six times for lunches and dinners).

Fresh and light dishes and a great adjunct to the other places in the same mall - Ashoka and Madras Cafe and now an adjacent Dosa house.

This popular place is in an area of San Diego (near Mira Mesa) with many choices of Indian restaurants and shops. Easy access to/from I-15 and Black Mtn Rd. Check out their website at http://www.suratifarsan.com for pics of dishes and some info too.

Pros: Great food., Great prices., Web site with pics and some descriptions

Cons: none

Great food/great price/less common selections

This place has a great variety of Indian dishes from the common masala dosa (and other dosas as well) to various petishes, kachoris, khaman, batakawada, etc. Haven't heard of some of those dishes? Neither had I until I started going to this place (their menu has descriptions). They also sell "snacks and sweets" as well. They also have a few curries, but that's not their speciality. This place tends to attract the younger Indian crowd (mostly 20s and 30s) and has a nice ambiance.

Pros: delicious, affordable, different items than most

Cons: no buffet
