Although they serve meat, they have 14 vegetarian starters, 18 vegetarian mains and 8 vegetarian side dishes to choose from, which is very impressive. And, as I found out, the owner of the restaurant is vegetarian.
And the vegetarian food in Spice Valley is consistently first class! Our favourite starter is Masala Mogo - fried cassava bits garnished with peppers and spring onions in a lemon and chilli sticky sauce (delicious!) and a platter of snacks for 2 (scrumptious!). For a main we usually order paneer tikka masala - fried Indian cheese cubes in a mild tomato & cashew nut sauce, medium vegetable kofta curry - a green veg soft ball in a velvety sauce or a fiery veg kolhapuri - mixed vegetables in a tomato sauce with spices. We have them with a mushroom rice and very tasty peshawari naan bread stuffed with coconut, almonds and raisins.
It's a truly sensational and pleasurable experience, it's a feast of spices on your tongue and palate!
The portions are generous and the staff is happy to provide plastic boxes if you want to take an excess of your food home. They also have a children's menu. Alcohol is served. There are 15% discounts for a take-away food.

The restaurant is situated 2 miles away from the Bolton town centre, in Valley Leisure Park, near Cineworld Cinemas, so it comes in handy if you also want to see a film or live Met opera transmissions from...New York.Pros: wide choice of authentic Indian food, large portions, big free car park
