Friendly staff and excellent food!

They have a great vegan menu and the sambusas are amazing. I had the veggie combo #2. I think my favorite was the red lentil. Make sure to order the teff injura, as it is traditional and tastes better. I did not know this, but the staff offered it to me after my meal. The staff was incredibly friendly and I hope to come back.

Pros: Very friendly staff, plentiful injura, nice atmosphere and great food

All veg items are vegan!

Because they understand and recognize vegan items in their menu and the food is not super greasy, 4 cows. The location and price bring it to 3. I support this business, but living in DC it is a trek to come to this restaurant. Unless you need gluten free dining, you will be just as happy in DC and spending less money for more food. Plus, they were out of lentil sambusas when I went...??

Standard fare for the food, and no shiro wat in the larger vegan sampler. Plus, the price was different than what the menu said. I did like the tomato salad, and the green beans were great with the bell peppers and carrots. The yellow split peas were alright, but usually the flavor is more pronounced at other places, so I think they kept the spices low. The mesir wat should be berbere filled, but it wasn't. The green lentils were alright. The collards tasted fresh. The potatoes were good.

If I am in the area and need gluten free Ethiopian without price concern, this place is great.

Pros: Vegan is easy here!, Gluten free injera, Not greasy

Cons: Far far away, Pricey
