Like Nowhere Else

This is probably the northernmost vegetarian restaurant in the world.
A bit hard to get there if you don't have a car.
My dish was a bit bland, my friends was good.

We ate in Silva in June 2013. Daily changing menu. Always vegan options available, lovely fresh bread, big portions.
Great vegan cake. Lovely setting.

Pros: good value, big portions, made feel welcome

hit or miss

We visited this place three times during our stay on Iceland. It is great to find a nice place with good food in the middle of nowhere. The food was kind of hit or miss though. For example, the tortilla with mango chutney was really good, but the lentil stew was a bit tame. Since the menu changes daily, it is really a matter of luck. Each day they had good soup with bread though. Probably the northernmost vegetarian restaurant of the world. Recommended.

Pros: only veg place in 100s of miles, great scenery, northernmost veg restaurant worldwide(?)
Cons: food was hit or miss, difficult to reach

Great place!

My family and I have just come back from 2 weeks in Iceland. We visited Silva in the last few days, just for a cuppa & piece of cake - lovely! There was a lovely selection of vegan cakes & sweets, the 4 different ones we tried were delicious. I also bought a pasty & cake to take away for the following day's lunch!

Amazing restaurant near Akureyri

If you're traveling in Iceland and looking for a place to stop in for some real food, this is the place. It's has a cozy atmosphere and they don't mind how long you hang out. It was like a veg haven in the north!

The food is great and healthful and they have plenty of vegan options. The only non-vegan things they had on the menu when we were there were feta cheese and creamer/milk. Everything else was either vegan or raw. They have a soup of the day with bread and crackers. They have vegan entrees, but all of their entrees can be made vegan by removing the cheese. I think they also have the biggest selection of raw food I saw in any restaurant while we was there. The coffee and desserts were amazing too!

Pros: Relaxed atmosphere, Great food, Desserts and drinks
Cons: Some dairy on the menu
