i only went in for 1 thing

I had heard from a good few friends about this shop. So I went to have a look and fell in love with it. Im mostly vegetarian and It pretty much caters for me. I can come here and chill out and eat with friends do my shopping and get good advice from Oliver. Sometime I only come in for one thing and i leave with about 20, reminds me a lot of health food stores in California, the cafe food is really fresh and reasonable. Juices and smoothies are delicious and you feel so good after one. I love Dalkey and this place makes me love it more. I wanna move there soon. The other great thing about this place is if they dont have the product they always try their best to source it, thank you.

Pros: food, Oliver, atmosphere

Terrible service

Went into select stores to order a coffee and a sandwich to go. Was left waiting 30 minutes while apparently my order was being made, with no explanation or apology as to why it was taking so long and when i was finally handed my order i was informed that they had run out of the bread i had asked for but they had taken it upon themselves to put it on a bread of their own would of been nice to have been given the option seeing as i was paying for it!!! At this stage i just wanted to leave as i had been standing at the counter for 30 minutes. Got home and took out the sandwiches to find that it was the wrong order completely and to add insult to injury, they were over flowing with tomatoes which i happen to be severely allergic too. As somebody who works in the service industry, i am completely appalled by the lack of customer care and their sheer audacity at deciding what i would be given instead of simply asking me. Clearly need to revise their customer relations strategy and competency.

Healthy Lively Place

just love this quaint lively place in the centre of Dalkey. Not only can you eat healthy here but yo can shop healthy too with a great range of organic and conventional health foods plus fruit and veg. Staff are informative and pleasant. difficult to get a seat at times but you can take out food too. Everything is locally produced and sourced. And you pay what you get for. always pop in when in Dalkey or out for walk nearby. Smoothies and juices are great when you have a thirst or hangover!!

Pros: tasty, friendly, nutrition
Cons: busy, far, ques

I travel to Deilginis (Dalkey) quite a lot myself and usually make the trip into this store to buy goods. If it is just a snack you are looking for while taking a break or waiting for someone, it is a great place to get a veggie, even vegan treat. Juices are good and food is decent. It is not really a place to have a full meal though. But a browse through the shop is of good interest as they have a good selection of products.

Pros: Good selection, Nice snacks
Cons: Out of way, unless visiting the town., Slightly expensive

Tasty vegan food in walking distance?

3 Posted on 02 / 14 / 2011

Select stores is a deli, juice bar and health food store.

The deli caters for vegetarians but is not 100% vegetarian. It is a little on the expensive side for a lunch out. The salads and soups are delicious, as is the falafel pitta, however, they don't compare to some other vegetarian options in Dublin.

They keep a range of vegan burgers, giant samosas and pizza slices which are truly delicious. They cost between 2.50 and 3 euro plus. This is a little expensive but worth it for the convenience.

They keep a wide range of nut butters, competitively priced, and a wide range of dried cereals and beans. There is a small range of vegan cheeses kept in store, and on occasion a small amount of vegan meats, which is a little disappointing.

The juice and smoothie bar is very good. It is comparative in price to other juice bars, but generous in portion sizes.

They keep a wide range of vegan cosmetics and cleaning supplies.

Overall, it is a good place to go for a tasty addition to your evening meal (not a suitable option for families). The range of nut butters is very good. However, the lack of range of vegan cheese and meats means I will have an extra few stops on my shopping trip.

Pros: tasty homemade vegan burgers, wide range of nut butters, tasty falafel pittas
Cons: a little pricey for lunch out, small range of vegan cheese/meat, small range of vegan chocolate
