Great Vegan Panini, Cheesecake & Grocery Items

This little gem boasts just one vegan sandwich on the menu, but it is so creative and delicious it's worth mentioning. Shredded beets, carrots, and cabbage are combined with homemade vegan pesto on toasted Ezekiel bread topped with sprouts. Don't miss the vegan passion fruit cheesecake for dessert!

This health food store also offers a great selection of canned and dry goods such as grains, beans/legumes, nuts, and fruit, as well as condiments such as tahini, liquid aminos, and other staples in a vegan pantry. They also offer free alkaline water & WiFi.

The ambiance is nice too, with a pretty ocean mural painted on the wall, and 3 cute dogs (companions of the cafe's owner) who wander around sweetly.

Great find

Pura Vida will accept U.S. dollars or pesos. For U.S. $29 we had two light burritos on brown rice tortillas with great homemade salsa, a large 24 oz. fresh carrot/orange/mango juice, a larger rice milk/banana/papaya/mango smoothie, and two large slices of homemade key line cashew pie (pie to go), all organic. We are staying down the road in El Pescadero but plan to dine here every day for this winter holiday. Great food at great prices. LOCATION. Only one gas station on the main road through town. From south turn left just before gas station, from the north turn right just after the gas station. Pura Vida is just maybe 25 meter down the road on the right, easy to spot.

Pros: Organic , Fresh, Friendly owners
Cons: small selection in market
