An oriental delight in the heart of Solothurn

4 Posted on 05 / 25 / 2014

Pittaria is one of those places where when you enter, you just feel welcomed and at home. There is always a wonderful feeling of harmony in the Pittaria.

The food fits in perfectly in that it is always made with so much gusto, even in times where it is hectic with all the visitors. As a vegan i have always been accommodated and can heartily recommend the different vegetarian and vegan dishes.

Pros: Excellent food
Cons: Not always a quick meal

The Pittaria founded 1997 is an important institution in Solothurn. Specially for vegetarians and vegans. We offer 9 Specialties that we serve in Pitta Bread or on Dishes with Salad or Rice. All Specialties are homemade and originally comes from the Middle East. 3 vegetarian : Hallumi: Fried Cheese Sabanech: Spinach with Cheese, Pine nuts. Betenjan: Eggplant, Potatoes Sweet Potatoes, Paprika, Tomatoes and Cheese. 2 vegans: Falafel (Master piece), Hummus. Betenjan and Sabanech could be made with Falafel instead of Cheese. That means that vegans has 4 Variations to be satisfied. All our Sauce are vegan. 1 Tahini: Sesame Paste with lemon juice. 2 Salat Turki: Relish with Tomatoes Onion, Paprika and Parsley. 3 Chutney: Apple, Apricots, Ginger, Garlic, Paprika. 4 Sambal: Chili.
Pittaria is Lonely Planets Authors choice in Solothurn and Top 5 in Switzerland. It was written about very Positive in the Media at least 20 times. 2004 has got the Best of swiss Gastro Award.

Nicest vegetarian fast food in town

4 Posted on 03 / 07 / 2014

As soon as you enter the small restaurand you are usually welcomed by the friendly and charming owner. There are actually only two vegetarian dishes on the menu, but they are amazing in quality and quantity.

Pros: good food, good portions, great ambiente
Cons: not so much choice, opening times are short
