Great Dining Experience

4 Posted on 03 / 06 / 2012

With so many vegan choices on the menu, there are more vegan choices than non-vegan. This is a rare find in an area that has little to offer vegans in the way of dining out. They describe themselves as a vegan oriented restaurant and while they do serve some meat the emphasis is on vegan/vegetarian. All vegan choices are boldly marked and easy to see. As an added bonus, they are only one mile from Vegan Treats Bakery!

We've eaten a lot of Mediterranean food and this was by far the best food we've had. Our meal started with a complimentary pita, olive oil and exotic spice dip. Next we had the sampler platter of six delicious appetizers, three of which we had not seen in other Mediterranean restaurants. All six were delicious. My wife had an unusual and delicious beet salad with a mustard based dressing. I had the tabbouli salad. Then we followed with falafel. The falafel was incredible, crispy on the outside and so moist on the inside you didn't need the tahini sauce, but the sauce was so good you wouldn't want to miss out on it. Too full for desert, we finished our meal with two cups of spice infused, subtly sweetened, Turkish coffees. The food was so good we took some lentil soup home for the next day's lunch.

The service was great. Our waitress was very knowledgeable and explained those items that were new to us. We had come in just as the last table of the night was leaving. Our waitress never made us feel rushed and in fact she and her mom sat at the table across from us and had a meal. We felt like we had a scrumptious Mediterranean home cooked meal with Mom preparing the meal and her daughter serving it. Our waitress kept her eye on us the whole time in case we needed anything.

The atmosphere was warm and relaxing with soft, Mediterranean music playing in the background.

We not only had a delicious, wholesome, exotic yet homey meal, we left with the satisfyingly wonderful feeling you get from a rare experience.

Pros: Delicious, Great service, Lots of choices
Cons: would like more vegan dinner entrees
