Close to Harajuku JR Station

4 Posted on 08 / 09 / 2012

We stopped in here for lunch while visiting Harajuku on holiday. Great place for a quick lunch bite.

I had the Karaage set meal which was tasty and ample for lunch.

The place is fairly easy to find and a short walk from Harajuku JR station: From the station exit cross the street at the pedestrian crossing (toward the building with the GAP sign), head toward the pedestrian overbridge, (Don't use this), but at the intersection turn left down the main road. After a couple of hundred metres you'll come to a major cross road (Meji Dori), cross this and continue. At the second small street on the left, turn left. Vegecate is about 100 metres down on the right with a distinctive green sign.

Pros: Cheap, Tasty, English menu

Good place to grab a bite to eat

4 Posted on 04 / 18 / 2012

I stopped by this place yesterday. I chose a M size bowl of "Karaage" to take away. It was delicious. However, I would not have consider eating a real dinner here, as the menu is very limited. Some vegetables with the soy meat bowl would have been nice.
The prices are quite reasonable, and the place is easy to find thanks to the map in english on Vegecate website.

Pros: good soy meat, reasonable prices
Cons: limited choice

Yummy vegan fast food

5 Posted on 03 / 04 / 2012

Review: We ate lunch here and they had a 'Karaage' bowl and miso soup for about 700 yens. That's very low price in Japan! The miso soup (japanese traditional soup) tast good, and Karaage bowl (deep fried soy meat with brown rice and some cabbage) was wonderful. That tasted just like chicken. The staff was friendly and helpful and the cafe had great ambiance.
We went on Saturday May 3, 2012.

Pros: good value, fast vegan food, friendly staff
Cons: narrow space, few choice
