Serves meat, veg options available. Red Bluff is known for its cowboy atmosphere so finding a place to eat veg is unusual. At lunch time there is one vegetarian choice; dinner menu with a few more. Note that chicken broth is used in the appetizer soup. Previously operated as New Asian Garden and was more veg-friendly but less so now, as of December 2012. Price: Moderate more-less

New Asian

Posted on 01 / 23 / 2014

We've eaten at New Asian a couple of times while visiting in the Red Bluff area. We had the same waitress both times, and she was really friendly and helpful. When we told her we were there because they offered vegan fair, she asked if we also wanted fat-free, which we did. She was good about suggesting dishes that fit our wishes. Unless you like plain, unseasoned, soft (mushy?) tofu, we don't recommend their tofu dishes. The second time there we tried their sweet and sour tofu thinking that might make the tofu palatable, but ended up wishing we hadn't. Their other vegan options were good, and worth repeating.
