Good for a picnic

These stores are all over Paris so if you're stuck for breakfast or fancy a cheap picnic lunch, there's a decent choice. They sell all sorts of soya milks and breakfast cereals, as well as cakes, breads and fruit and veg. There's a special fridge for ready-made food, including a nice cous with veggies, a lentil and tofu dish (bit salty but tasty), veggie wraps and spreadable tofu with cucumber. I'd advise taking your French dictionary because the staff were useless.

Pros: Cheap, Decent choice
Cons: You'll need to translate ingredients lists, You'll be making up your own meal

expensive, limited choice and corporate with staff who dont know the produce...

please use biocoop www.biocoop.fr for listings. this group of coops has ETHICS! and a huge range of produce with bulk bins and really cool staff! prices also seem lower than naturalia. brilliant range of fresh produce.

or use monoprx stores, cheaper range of vegi and vegan products. but not much organic.

A vegan destined for Paris I was nervous what to expect. Naturalia had a great range. They have shops everywhere; I visited their shops near Hotel de Ville metro, on Boulevard Magenta, on rue Beaubourg and rue Monge. Check out http://www.naturalia.fr/entreprise/nos_magasins.asp for the rest of their shops.

They have a wide range of milks (oat/soya/almond), some fake meats (pricey, but nothing like I've found in Ireland) and a general wide range of health foods. Plenty of fresh fruit and veg available too. I did find it odd that they sold soya products, which appeared to be fake meats, but actually contained salmon etc. Read labels carefully!

I found the staff to be kind too :) They were providing paper bags to customers and had canvas ones for sale, but I never go shopping without my own bags, so no issue there! Quite right of them to take up that stance on it all too.

Pros: Wide range, plenty of locations
