Vegan bento and much more!

Probably the most versatile natural store for vegans in Tokyo. They even sell vegan bentos and upbeet donuts!!
Lots of organic veggies/fruit and vegan packaged foods. Big variety of cosmetic and cleaning items, as well as make up and natural clothing. Big book section on natural living/cooking ect.

Great In A Pinch

Small health food store with prepared foods clearly labeled vegetarian. Bento Boxes as well. Soya drinks, cookies, juices and ramen noodles. Small fruit section.

Expensive and poor vegan labeling

This is a fine expensive organic grocery store, but for vegans doesn’t offer much at reasonable prices. A few ready made meals are labeled for vegetarians, but overall I was disappointed with the lack of options and the prices.

Great readymeals!

People in Tokyo love readymeals - it makes life a lot easier if you can pop into a convenience store and buy a wholesome, healthy ready-made meal and eat quick. Except, none of those are remotely vegan - but Natural House sells lovely readymeals and even has a selection of very nice food to eat in-house.
Also a great place to find things like soy mayonnaise and curry sauces and soy flakes etc.

Cons: The relationship between organic and vegan., Don't buy organic - bad for the environment.

Not bad but could be much better..

Had better veg grocery options than regular supermarkets but this place is not that great to be honest.

The grocerys aren't labeled veg or vegan at all and it's all is kanji so better have google translate and some extra time. Also options are very limited and they focus a lot on meat and fish.

The deli food at the back was unfresh and lousy.

All in all, might be worth going there if you need some vegan groceries but don't be too excited or go too out of your way to go there, and skip the deli and head to one of the nicer veg restaurants around the area.

Pros: better grocerys than regular supermarkets, vegan ice cream

Cons: poorly labeled for vegans, deli is lousy food, limited options, heavily focused on meat

just ok

Very limited vegan options. Poor labeling, limited english. Helpful staff. Pricey, but then again what isn't in Tokyo. I was there around 4:30pm and there was one pack of sorry looking tempura veg and nothing else that looked even remotely interesting and appetizing to a vegan.

Healthy food shop in Omote Sando

This shop is very convenient for many reasons including location, heathy and local food...
The only problem, and it's a global problem in Japan, most of the fruits and the vegetables are wrapped in a plastic wrap which is really sad, so I hope they will propose sales in bulk very soon ;-)

Pros: Nice vibe, nice assortment of fruits and vegetables

Cons: a little bit pricey , way to much plastic wrap

Great organic shop with vegan option available

The shop have a wide variety of organic fruits and vegs and other items.
The vegetarian and vegan option are clearly label what make things easier for us.
They have vegan ice-cream that I have to try and other options.not everything is label.
At night they do a 40% discount in take out food and other items. I thought it will be expensive but not at all.

Pros: 40% discount at night in take out food, Vegan friendly, Open until 22:00

Cons: Some items are expensive

Organic, big selection

It's a pleasant surprise to find a large and well-stocked natural food grocery on one of the main streets in the upscale Omotesando area. Prices are high but the quality and selection are good too. The shop includes deli and baked goods sections, cosmetics and body care products, a juice bar, a small seating area, and a restroom. I've met a number of helpful sales persons who have read and explained labels on products for me--I'm a vegan and my Japanese is elementary, so shopping in an "omnivore" grocery can be tough, for me especially when reading Kanji is involved! . The in-house prepared foods that are vegetarian have a green "veg friendly " sticker and despite the shop's overall high prices, are a good deal for the portion size and variety. I like the macrobiotic bento boxes and mochi ,securely packed for travel. Vegans, here's an eki-ben for you.

Deli!

This supermarket is nice, but really expensive and does not have so many vegan foods. In fact, there are way too much meat and dairy.

However, their deli dishes are really affordable. They have several kinds of bento, soups and a curry that are labelled 'for vegetarian' (but it seems they all these options are vegan). They also have several kinds of fresh vegetables. I had a bento with a chunk of tempura and rice, only 500yen.

If you come later in the afternoon, most of the deli food might be gone. I came at 6pm and there wasn't much left.
You can eat in or take out. There is a microwave to heat your food and complimentary tea.

All in all, it's a nice place. The food is fresh and tasty, and I am always happy to find vegan food in Japan. The prices in the deli are also OK.

Pros: The deli is good value for money, Eat in or take out, Vegan dishes in the deli!

Cons: The supermarket is expensive, Not many vegan foods in the supermarket, No ingredients in English

Nice organic supermarket

Natural House is quite expensive compared to most supermarkets and shops that sell foreign products so I don't go there very often. However, there is a nice deli in the back of the store where one can buy a pre-set or make-it-yourself vegan lunch box for 600-900 yen. They also have several freshly made vegan snacks, such as vegetable tempura (~160 yen) and fried tempeh (~130 yen). Since these things are hard to find somewhere else (especially for such price), it is worth visiting Natural House just for them at least once.

Pros: good selection, vegan products, deli with some vegan options

Cons: deli has no signs in english, some products overpriced

OK store

Just a stone's throw away from Omotesando metro station, the location couldn't be more convenient. I came here mostly for vegan travel supplies/snacks and found the selection a bit limited. They also sold pre-packed meals and had a small buffet station in the back if you want something fresher. The whole place felt kind of commercial to me compared to the one I stumbled upon just behind the hotel I stayed at in Shinjuku. Check that one out, much better!

Pros: location

Cons: selection

Cute Place

The health food store sells vegan products such as mock meats and cheeses. They also sell fresh produce. I was lucky to be able to talk to a sales clerk that spoke good enough English to realize why I was struggling and staring at the nutritional value of things like bread and using my kanji dictionary. So hard. Not fond of those memories! haha. She would tell me what had eggs or milk in them. Very nice of her. The cafe was good. I used to study and spend the afternoon munching on my lunch and drinking tea or coffee. They had a really good mushroom stir fry dish that I liked very much.

Vegan Ice Cream

I found everything to be very expensive. However, they had the most delicious vegan chocolate ice cream in the freezer section and yummy veg (not sure if completely vegan) set lunches for around 900 yen.

Better than supermarkets

They have a decent selection of products. Quite a lot of organic produce which is good to see. They call themselves "Natural House" but don't seem to be doing much to reduce unnecessary packaging. They don't seem to ask customers if they need a bag or not. Especially when the customer only has a couple of things. They put things already in plastic in little plastic bags, then into a larger bag. They should start charging people for bags.

Pros: good selection, organic produce available, stores everywhere

Cons: too much packaging, too much plastic

Many locations,easy to find,ok selection!!!

If you are looking for some fake meats and vegan currys this is a good place. There was not a huge selection and no vegan cheese at all!! There were cans of sausage, corn beef and gluten (like chicken style). Those are good cuz they last long and dont need to be in the fridge. You can stock up if you have trouble getting there often.Found my soy mayo!!! Great!!!!

Pros: many locations, easy to find, resonable price

Cons: no cheese, not enough selection
