Friendly, small store with a little bit of everything. Lots of vegetarian products, small offering of vegan products. Great "spice bar" and employees are happy to help those who are spice novices. Carry local, in-season produce (greens, peppers, mushrooms, herbs) and local (some vegan) bread and bakery items. Also carry small range of cruelty-free cosmetics/bath & body products, household cleaning supplies and ethically produced gifts/Maggie's clothing.
For those who bring their own bags, Native Roots gives a token that represents the price of the disposable bag that the consumer can donate to one of a variety of charities, including a local, no-kill shelter.
Overall, Native Roots is a pleasant, small shop and the owners/employees try very hard to serve as many diverse needs as possible in a state that isn't particularly veg*n or environmentally friendly. The vegan options are a little slim but it's a great place to pop in at the last minute, more akin to a convenience store than a Whole Foods. I've been to Native Roots many times and definitely recommend it to anyone passing by, keep an eye out for the vegan options, vegetarians will be fine.
Cons: small store, little parking
