Great Food

We had a quick service, I think it depends which time and day you go tho. It was tasty and very very cheap. They know what vegan means too! Almost every curry there is vegan.

Inexpensive and quick service

Standard Indian menu that’s fairly inexpensive with quick service and delicious food. Need to watch out for milk and eggs, but it’s easy to navigate if you’re used to modifying Indian food. Masala tea usually comes with milk, so flag that you want black tea if you’re vegan.

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Inexpensive, Spacious seating

Cons: Need to modify vegetarian dishes if you’re vegan

Good Vegan Restaurant

Very tasty food with many vegan options. We had the spinach dosa which was enormous, chilli vegetable Momo's (10 pieces) and the Nepali Thali. Everything tasted delicious and prices are quite affordable. My partner had a beer and I had a half shot of rum and a can of Coke to mix and the total bill came to NR 1750. The restaurant is clean and cosy and staff were attentive and friendly.

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Reasonably priced, Delicious food

Cons: No separate menu for vegan dishes

Great Indian food

Large selection of authentic Indian dishes, great taste. I tried both the Indian and the Gujarati Thali, both were very good and more than filling.

Pros: great food

great affordable Indian/nepalease restaurant

Great pure veg (Indian term for no meat and no eggs) restaurant offering Indian cuisine and some more nepalease and western (pure veg) dishes. Prices are low, food is good, many vegan options but don't expect vegan familiarity.
Smaller than the other Marwadi restaurant in lakeside (the same owner).

Pros: no meat or eggs, and many vegan options, good food, cheap

Cons: veganism isn't familiar to staff, so watch for dai

Great Indian food

No frills restaurant with good prices. Tried the veg paratha and mixed veg curry, both were fantastic and filling.

Decent Indian food

Had a decent, low price meal here.

Service was good, all dishes were fine without being terrific.

Good, solid choice on the Lake side.

Pros: Quick service, friendly

Best Food I ate in Nepal

You want to eat authentic Nepali food in a place where locals eat, too? Then Marwadi is the place for you. Located at Lakeside Pokhara it is very close but not centre of the tourist area. We have been to Pokhara in 2014 and 2015 and have eaten there nearly every day that we spent in the town. Every dish was delicious - we have nowhere eaten tastier food in Nepal!

Keep in mind that Marwadi is vegetarian not vegan. When ordering a Thali, take your time to explain that you don't want any yoghurt or lassi like dishes. Let the waiter show you on the menu what is part of the Thali or your dish and ask if it contains milk, eggs, or butter. This has worked very well for us.
The chef at Marwadi prepared the dishes spicy - no problem fir locals or people who like to eat spicy food (and I mean real spicy by Asian/Indian not European standards). If you can't eat too spicy, let the waiter know in advance.

great food great price

What more can I say than the title. Sadly toilets were bad, but that is common in Nepal. But for the toilets it is five star for its price range. Should be listed as a $ not a $$.

Pros: very tasty Indian food, very good price, friendly and lots of locals eating there

Cons: toilets not so good, not much English, but this is Nepal
