Very good food here

The food here was quite good on the day I went. The current price for the lunch of the day is 7200 pesos (June, 2014). Double that if you want the meal of the day, plus a portion of fish. This place isn't 100% vegetarian, but only about 20% of the customers seemed to be ordering the optional fish. I went on a Saturday afternoon and the place was packed. You go up to the counter and pay first, they give you a number, and then they deliver the food to your table (this seemed to take about 15 minutes on the day I went). But, it was worth the wait. The plate lacked color, and it would have been nice to have some dark green veggies to balance things out. The dining room is very pleasant. This place is a cut above the rest overall, and only slightly more expensive.

Pros: Tasty food, Nice atmosphere

Popular and it makes sense

This place is large and popular - busy is almost always a good sign. Went for the Bandeja Paisa - the beans in particular were very delicious and the rice was brown (yay!). The best part was that it was filling, but not gluttonous like the usual BP. The only down was the salad was the usual iceberg lettuce, but it was plentiful with a light oil-based dressing. The restaurant is on the second floor, and the signage visible on the street refers to the attached natural goods store and bakery (beauty care products, grains, staples). All baked items are made with wholemeal flour - includes pan de bono, pan con arequipe, dinner rolls, and croissants. And, the staff are lovely! I'll go back. (Lunch price was 6,600 pesos as of September 28, 2012.)

Pros: fresh ingredients, lovely staff, central location
Cons: iceberg lettuce salad!

I go every Friday!

I love this restaurant. Lunch consists of soup, salad, protein, vegetable, fresh juice, and a small dessert for $6.000. Only serves a set lunch menu that changes daily, except on Friday.

The chef, Luis, is a genius (I know because I take cooking classes with him) and the manager Fernando is the friendliest person you will ever meet. No one leaves a stranger.

My favorite lunch is the Bandeja Paisa every Friday. That's the typical Pereirian meal. I make it a point to go every week.

Definitely go here if you are in town. Chances are if you see a gringa there on a Friday, it's me!

Pros: Great staff!, Great food!, Great price!
Cons: Only serve lunch., Serve fish, but what SA place doesn't.
