avocado toast. major flop toast. the avocado was solid rubber (not ripe) and there was no seasoning.
Read moremight go back to try the waffles but they aren’t clearly marked on the menu so i missed them. or maybe i just didn’t look hard enough!!
waitress was really nice and gave me a refund for the toast and new avocado (that was only very slightly softer).

Yes for Waffles ! - Edit
Love Malias Cafe ! They are knowledgeable about vegan eats. For breakfast I had a vegan gluten free waffle with strawberries and coconut. It was delicious! You can pick your toppings. I definitely recommend coming here for breakfast or lunch.

Rare vegan-friendly breakfast - Edit
Malia’s was a delicious meal in a friendly atmosphere! We sat outside on the deck, and had a great experience. You do need to know that the Gluten free waffle on the menu is also vegan! I confirmed this with the waitress after reading other Happy Cow reviews, but it is not labeled this way on the menu. The vegetarian sausage is also Morning Star, and vegan.

What a great breakfast! Tomatoes, spinach, cilantro, beets, squash, onions on top of hash browns. Perfect proportion of vegetables and perfectly seasoned. Friendly and helpful staff.

Great Pancakes - Edit
Tried some breakfast options (pancakes and waffles I believe) with a few other things. Food was really good! Not too many options around so this was great.

Worth it - Edit
They have a few different vegan options like the gluten free and vegan pancakes or waffles. I had the vegan veggie hash which was so good! It had tomatoes, spinach, red peppers, chickpeas, sliced beets, sliced radishes, sauteed onions all over hash browns. Yum!

Nice view - Edit
Visited this place one year ago, sat out on the patio area with a view of the beach. Had a tasty breakfast veggie wrap with avocado. Service was fast and friendly even though they were busy.

A Great Place for Breakfast - Edit
I didn't have high expectations that I would find any vegan options here, but the vegetable hash is the best savory vegan breakfast I have ever had. It's not just a bunch of wilted veggies on hash browns. It was fresh local vegetables (cherry tomatoes, summer squash, sautéed mushrooms, chickpeas, radishes cilantro, and more) and a great mix of spices. Totally worth the price and the non-vegan options are great too.

Cons: Only a few vegan options.

Closed for the season - Edit
I was super excited to try Malia's for breakfast today. The app says it is open, but when I arrived, a huge sign says it's closed for the season. Bummer. Please update this so others don't waste their time like I did.

Beachy Chic! - Edit
Very bright and cheerful cafe atmosphere with indoor and outdoor seating. It's more vegetarian than vegan but with a few tweaks many wraps and sandwiches can be made vegan. Our waitress was friendly and helpful and the kitchen was accommodating. When I ordered the hummus with pita and cucumber for lunch... which is usually an appetizer ... it came out with extra veggies (carrots and tomato slices) and a big handful of blue corn chips. I really appreciated the effort! And I was with people who are not vegan and they said their food was good too.
Read morePros: Kid friendly, they had coloring books & crayons., Really good hummus and pita!
Cons: No 100% whole grain bread options.

Not best for vegans - Edit
This restaurant missed the mark for breakfast. Although they had vegan/gf pancakes and waffles, they didn’t taste good. My kids liked the waffles slightly better but we probably won’t be back. Super sad because we had high hopes. Also their sweet tea was so sweet I couldn’t drink it which has never happened to me before!

Glad to have vegan options in OC - Edit
They have a few vegan breakfast and lunch options. Breakfast options include waffles with fruit, breakfast sausage, hashbrowns, etc. Lunch items included a couple different wraps that can be made vegan.

Great for a vegan lunch, NOT breakfast! - Edit
I went here for breakfast and the only vegan food items were oatmeal and fruit. The lunch menu looked promising, though. For a vegan breakfast I would reccommend the Greenhouse in Ocean City.

Not Just For Vegetarians! Refreshing Find! - Edit
We went to Malia's for a late lunch/early dinner. I admit to being hesitant as we needed to satisfy a 10yr old and two 14yr olds. Well, Malia's can cater to kids as well as adults and all of us ended up full with food to take home that was scarfed up by lunch the next day. The food was hearty and tasty--all of it done well without being too fancy and jacking up the cost. The service was very friendly, though since we were there close to closing we were the only customers at the time. I can see a place like this getting busy for breakfast or the height of the lunch hour. We had the hot dog, peanut butter sandwich (which had much more than just peanut butter) on whole grain bread, BLT, tomato & mozzarella salad, veggie burger on pita w/ sprouts and avocado, awesome onion rings, and tomato soup. I was most impressed that everything was done well without being expensive. Portions were substantial without being over the top. CHECK OUT THE PHOTOS we posted. Will make a point to go to Malia's again when in Ocean City!

Excellent~ - Edit
My partner and I are here at Ocean City for the weekend and being vegetarians its kind of hard to find something vegetarian to eat. We came across this place of course using Happy Cow and we loved it! We had the vegetarian Fajitas for our meal along with the Bread & Hummus as our appetizer. Everything was awesome and we will definitely be returning :)
