Out Of Business

Posted on 11 / 08 / 2014

I liked this loving hut a lot being the vegan in the family. They had all kinds of interesting and tasty dishes. However the place is so miserable to get to with the traffic and my non vegan wife and kids didn't like it much so we hardly ever went and now it seems to have gone out of business.

However there seems to be a new outfit there also advertising Jay food anyone know what it is?

"Jay" (Thai เจ, Chinese 齋) is a sort of Thai/Chinese religious lent (Thai "Vegetarian Festival" is all about that).

Jay food must be vegan, so it usually helps in Thailand if you know how the sign looks like (you can find stuff in supermarkets labeled as Jay, using either Thai letters or Chinese, often with red letters on yellow background). You can use the sign to ask Thai folks who don't speak English (I always carry a picture on my phone for that purpose).

Nicely decorated Thai veggie food

The restaurant used to be a pub so the decoration is quite unique but now in a good way. The ceiling is made of hundreds of wooden windows. Nice atmosphere.

There is a variety of Thai food to choose from. Try the omelette made from fresh tofu sheet. The dishes are not so spicy. There are both a-la-carte and separate dishes to select. Most of the dishes are yummy and very yummy. They have pineapple ice-cream.

Usually opens at 11.30. Closes on Wednesdays.

Pros: Good food, Good value, Wide selection
Cons: Location

Great food, not easy to get there (without a car)

We went to Loving Hut on Ram Intra several times and had a good food experience every time.

They offer quite a good variety of mainly Thai and some Fusion food, the menu is in English and Thai. The prices are moderate, not too expensive, concerning that most of the ingredients are organic.

The food is 100% vegan and everything is delicious. The staff is really really friendly and helpful, but their English is quite limited.

If you're ever in that area stop by for some food. They don't have many customers, because of the location.
You have to take a van or a bus to Ram Intra 51 (right next to the express way. There is a foot bridge and a wooden hut on one side of the street. Behind it you can see a small football tennis court. Follow the foot path and cross another foot bridge and you'll find the place right in front of you.

Pros: Delicious food, Moderate prices, Friendly staff
Cons: Hard to find and far away
