Loved the loving hut

Not expensive and a lot of options. We liked the sate and the rainbow rice! The last is rice with veggies and some crispy stripes in it. Also the gado gado was good and if you're eager for veggies choose the cap cay.

Pros: Gevarieerde eten, Setting, Prijs

Amazing vegan Restaurant!

We had a great experience at Loving Hut Express today. The food consisted of a wide offer of traditional Indonesian food - very tasty, with good advice, friendly service and a chilled atmosphere.

Unfortunately I got the bali belly..!

Well, first of all - the restaurant's fully vegan. That's amazing and I definitely support that! But unfortunately I got the bali belly after my meal. My friend was feeling fine afterwards, so something must've been only on my plate... I'd say this place is at the border to streetfood so just make sure your food is well prepared or don't go there as a tourist just to be safe.

Very tasty, lots of options

So cool to be at this restaurant where all the food is vegan and it’s pretty much all Indonesian food (not western food - though I did see a pasta dish)

The food was yummy. The drink too. Prices good. I only wish it were closer to my Jogja hostel!!
I also wish that they had side vegetable dishes to order from.

Pros: All vegan, Varied selection , Red rice

Cons: Minor but I want side veggie dish options.

Cheap n cheerful

Big selection of food options - not sure what all the different rice and noodles dishes were, but there pictures to help! Small, simple restaurant, but food was very tasty and generous portions, especially for the price.
Gado gado was very tasty, huge portion!
Good Thai tea and iced coffee with coconut milk

Pros: Huge selection, Cheap, Quick and easy

Personally best place in jogja

First and foremost let’s just praise how good loving hut is around the world it’s like a lil international journey trying all their various restaurants haha

I’ve been in jogja for 3 days now tasting all the delicious vegan food that the city has to offer and personally this is my favourite
It’s so cheap and all the food was so delicious ‘enak’
You just point to what you want in the cabinet or you can order from the menu
They’re also quite plastic conscious regarding the use of straws which is great to see :)
If you don’t like spicy food make sure to ask as a few dishes were quite hot but I do love spicy food

Pros: 100% vegan, SO MUCH FLAVOURS!!!!

Exceptionally Good Loving Hut

Having eaten at dozens of Loving Hut restaurants around the globe, we can say this one is a cut above the norm. Flavors and textures were excellent, even in the buffet (which was still hot and fresh, as others have noted), and they advertise the use of organic ingredients. There’s plenty of both faux meats and whole veggies, with enough variety to please just about anyone. We sampled 8 items, all of which were delicious. The only thing we found in exciting were the coffee and the Thai tea; next time we’d order juices instead. Service was warm and prompt. Highly recommended! Enjoy!

Don't forget the menu

Went there after hearing a lot about the franchise and reading good reviews. We had the buffet which was very good. It's not all hot, bit still very tasty and very good priced. Definitely recommend. Next time I'll order from the menu.

Pros: Lots of options. Buffet and menu. The food is deli

Cons: Buffet is a bit limited in choice, not all warm, b

Raving 5 stars

Since taste equates for 80% of my review score, then no matter how bad the other aspects of the restaurant were, the score of this place couldn't go below a 5. That is how good the taste and freshness of the food is.

There is a secret to the taste that no other cafeteria style restaurant has accomplished. Not even the other loving huts in the same city. Their secret is to have the food in the bin less than 15 minutes. They don't cook huge batches unless it is lunch rush. Also, they keep the number of available cafeteria style dishes to around 4 if they are not busy. This keeps the food always rotating and fresh.

During lunch peak, they have around 8 to 10 dishes for the budget cafeteria style food. Since they are so busy, they also have woks cooking medium sized batches. Absolutely brilliant concept and they are the only restaurant to successfully pull off having FRESH food of this style.

Because the food is so fresh, inexpensive, delicious and is in a good location, the positive cycle of bringing in lots of customers and turning over fresh food is symbiotic. BRILLIANT!!

The budget meals with red rice is exactly $1 at the time of this review. The white rice meal is even less. You get 3 sides from the lower rack, plus the rice.

If you want a custom ordered meal, then the price goes to $2-$3 depending on what you order.

The ice cream bars are excellent for the price. Stay away from the small tubs of ice cream. It is all chemical tasting.

Atmosphere is a little hip and many indo college students eat here.

The only real drawback is the food tends to be in the spicier side. The other loving huts were not nearly as spicy. If you can't take a little heat, then watch out for the items with red chilli chunks.

Pros: Taste of food, Freshness of food, Price

Cons: A little too spicy for some people

Busy little Loving Hut.

Busy little eatery. Same Loving hut menu as the other 2. We ate here twice. Drinks were good and the food pretty awesome but portions not really that big. normally having to order an appetiser to share.or maybe im just a pig. great variety. Oh and thr 2 nights we were there this lady comes into the restaurant shaking get some bells along with a something playing recorded music. Super random and annoying I think people just give her money to go away.

The loving hut - a loving experience

It´s a good thing this place is situated just across the street from the best gym in Yogyakarta, because one tends to stuff himself beyond full every time. It has very nice and friendly staff, it is relatively cheap and it is close to UGM. The restaurant is small but the atmosphere is good and welcoming. Well worth a visit!

Pros: Tasty, yummie, wonderful, Excellent selection and variety, Nice staff and service
