Barely any vegan items

I miss vegan items on the menu here. It is a very cosy coffee place and they give of the air of being organic etc., but for sure not vegan-friendly.

too little vegan options

Nice place but I was a litlle bit disappointed after reading the positive reviews here. There were no vegannitems on the menu except for one chocodate cake. The menu says that everything with a * on it is vegan and than there us only one * on it!?!

The soup of the day was vegan and tasted well. I got chutney in stead of pesto so the staff knows what vegan is. And they can make one sandwich vegan with grilled vegetables. So there is choice but far too little and only the usual stuff.

Pros: cozy place, staff knows what vegan is

Cons: not many vegan options

What a lovely place!

This is a really lovely and pleasant place! It's located in a vibrant area close to the Centraal Museum and Dick Bruna Huis, so it's very convenient to have lunch or a snack there while exploring this part of the city. When I arrived, the restaurant was quite crowded, but staff were so friendly, made me feel very welcomed and told me I could sit at the bar. When another table was free because some people had left, they thought of me and told me I could change to that more convenient table now. I think that this was so considerate of them!
They have an English menu available and I ordered the humus sandwich and the homemade lemonade.
I had to wait for some time, probably because the place was very crowded, but I still think it was a little too long for a sandwich.
The sandwich came with wonderful fresh bread, a LOT of humus and also salad and different seeds on it. There were also too slices of cucumber and one small cherry tomato. However, the taste was a little boring and I think there should definitely be more tomatoes or even something else on it to make it a little less dry and the taste a little more interesting.
I still enjoyed the visit, though, because the atmosphere was fantastic and very positive, the decoration and furniture really nice, and it was just a very good place to be.

Pros: Very positive and pleasant atmosphere, Very nice staff, Great location in the museum quarter

Cons: Sandwich tasted a little boring, Had to wait a little too long

Great for lunch :)

I went to this place a few times: The first one I had a soy milk cappuccino for 2.20, not the best one ever, but it was fine and vegan, and the athmosphere was very nice. The place is a bit small, and gets crumped easy, but even so, they have changing art expositions, with very nice and colourful pictures.

The second time, I had the red hummus sandwitch, which is served with lettuce, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, and seeds. Also, I think there was some nice nuts in the hummus... All that served with a whole grain bread, makes it the best hummus sandwitch ever. Give it a try.
The sandwitch and the homemade lemonade I had where 8.70, plus free wifi password and nice old music coming from the radio.
About the staff, they're very smiley and friendly, and they're happy to help you if you do not understand the menu (they have an english one, but not for the beverages).
The options where not much, but the food was good and not so expensive, sometimes they also have vegan soup.

To sump up: Have lunch there, it goes to my favourites!

Pros: Great food, good portions, affordable, nice athmosphere, Friendly stuff and free wifi password.

Cons: Close a bit early (18:00), not the best cappuccino, need more vegan options.

Great vegan soup!

KEEK is a nice place with lots of great drinks, like Bionade. I ordered the soup, because the soup is always vegan. Of course I asked to be sure. It was my lucky day because it was some delicious tomato soup. Tomato soup happens to be my favorite, and this one was perfect. It was accompanied by some extra fresh and crispy bread. An extra plus is that the Ekoplaza (organic store) is a few houses further.
The soup at KEEK is always vegan. You can also ask for the sandwich with grilled veggies and pesto. They replace the pesto with red pesto, which is plantbased.

Pros: friendly staff, nice atmosphere

Cons: not so many options

Good lunch

My wife and I decided to lunch here during our shopping visit in Utrecht. I had the humus sandwich and a big artichoke soup. The humus tasted fresh, the sandwich came with a nice amount of fresh vegetables and the bread was delicious! The soup however tasted a bit flat, I could not recognize the taste of artichokes. We payed around 12 euro's per person for tea, sandwich and a big soup. The staff is very friendly.
