Quaint, colorful and delicious

This restaurant was a nice touch to end a drive from Germany. The owner makes jewelry which is displayed all thru this small restaurant. The restaurant itself is artfully painted with plants and there is jazzy music playing in the background. The food was delicious. We did nto have a choice because she squeezed us in a full house which was a single party. Our dinner started off with a wonderful soup and then a South African inspired main plate. We did not stay for dessert, which sounded delicious, because the owner does it all. This makes service very slow and the it was expensive.

Awesome South African food

Posted on 02 / 20 / 2011

We've been here a few times and the food was delicious every time. Quite spicy, but flavorful. The desserts will make your mouth water just by hearing the description. An example? Last time I went there, they had just made this beauty: a double layer of chocolate cake, a brownie cake squeezed inbetween. soaked with brandy, a cherry-brandy filling, dripping with chocolate icing and topped with south african 'flake' chocolate...

The owner is a vegetarian South African woman. If you have any special dietary requests just ask. She's creative enough to make anything taste good!

They are also starting a take-out version of their food called "Boco Bakkie". Worth checking out if you have a little less time.

Pros: real South African yummy food, will adapt to dietary needs, very friendly staff
Cons: limited opening days
