Good food here - Edit
This restaurant is well off the beaten track for the typical tourist but if you happen to be in the area it's worth a visit. It's about a 15 minute walk from the Itagui metro station, and it's about three or four blocks east of the principal park. The day I went the meal included a bowl of soup, a juice drink, the main plate with three items, and a small fruit dessert. I found the food to be quite good and I will definitely return if I am in the area. You really feel like you're in the "real" Colombia when you're in this neighborhood.
Read moreUpdate November 2023: the food is still good, the restaurant is in the same location, and now the meal of the day costs 16,000 pesos (20,000 on Sunday). I would rate them five cows as they are the only choice in the area and they have stood the test of time. Also, it's a good value.

La comida es rica, aunque a veces se quedan sin ideas y repiten mucho los mismos platos, a veces son creativos y otras sirven comida muy común, las porciones no son pequeñas pero podrían ser más grandes para su precio, la mesera es una persona absolutamente encantadora, muy amable y paciente, el servicio es muy rápido.
Read moreMe gustaría resaltar que la tienda vegetariana es bastante completa, allá he podido conseguir muchas cosas que difícilmente se encuentran en otras tiendas del mismo tipo, aunque también venden productos de origen animal como el colágeno.

This is a wonderful spot and well worth seeking out for lunch or an early dinner. It's actually one of the city's oldest vegetarian restaurants, founded sometime in the late 80's. Nice space with plenty of room, delicious Antioquian specialties like chicharron soup and even the occasional bandeja paisa. Creative healthy juices (like flax seed) and regional sweets. Also has a small but well-stocked shop.
Read moreIt's in the neighborhood of Itagüi which is hardly ever visited by foreigners, but is very easy to reach. 10 minute walk from the metro, I highly recommend spending some time in the lovely park which has a real neighborhood feel (the restaurant is just two blocks away). Friendly service and pleasant atmosphere, a living piece of Medellin veg history. Note that of Feb 2012 the listing is updated w/the correct address and map location.
