This is a real find - modern, comfortable decor; excellent service; great, helpful & friendly staff and beautifully presented meals. The food is light, carefully spiced & varied. In addition to the indoor seating there is also a garden at the rear. Easy parking outside/nearby in the evenings. They also do takeaway.
Everything is vegetarian; vegan options are clearly marked on the menu with an '*' & many of the remaining dishes (such as the dhosa) can easily be veganised on request - just ask the staff.
Starters - nine of the ten are vegan. These include: Rasam (a spicy tomato & lentil soup); Mehdu Vadu (lentil doughnuts with sambhar & chutney); Idli Sambhar (steamed dumplings with sambhar & chutney); Samosa; Mischief Bhajiya (crispy potato discs with spicy tomato sauce); Masala Papad (topped with chopped salad veg & spices); Stuffed Papad (lovely rolled papad stuffed with spicy veg); Crispy Okra strips; & Crispy Cassava chips.
Mains - a large selection of dhosa & uttapum (six marked as vegan but most/all the other three can be easily veganised); Mischief Specials - a variety of complete meals which come as curry, rice & different breads or mini papads (eg Uddipi Tarka Dhal; Sev Tomato; Cashew Nut Mahlabhari & Dhingri Mattar, plus daily curries depending on when you visit). Again, others can be adapted by leaving out the raita or paneer. A good selection of rice & sundries is available.
They've now started offering vegan desserts - we tried an Indian Mango (juicy & spiced with cardamom) & a rose water flavoured sorbet/ice-cream.
Highly recommended for a moderately priced, lovely & relaxed meal that never fails to please.
