I just want to point out that Humble Pie do not do vegan pies and this ad is misleading. They don't claim to but this ad suggests they do.

Humble, yet, quietly brilliant.

Slightly tucked away from the main shopping area and tourist attracting alley ways of the historic and very picturesque town of Whitby, this fabulous little cafe is well worth seeking out.
The menu is simple, a choice of around 10 pies served with mash potato, peas and gravy. 3 of the pies are vegetarian, a Romany Hommity pie, which is well worth trying especially if you are a garlic lover (and useful for keeping the towns resident vampires at bay). A Goats cheese and sweet potato variety, which is usually my first choice, (which I think should be called a Heidi Pie) and a new Vegetable crumble, which I haven't tried yet (something to look forward to on my next visit to Whitby). The gravy is always vegetarian (don't tell the meat eaters).
I recommend you visit here after a really long walk along the cliff tops or after not having eaten for several days, so that after your pie & mash you still have enough room to enjoy a pudding from the fabulous selection of suet puddings and fruit pies and crumbles that are on offer. Or do as we do, have your first course around lunch time, followed to by a climb up to the Abbey or walk along the beach to walk it off and then return late afternoon for the pudding.
All the pies are made fresh by the owners using local sourced and organic produce where possible and as you would expect from an establishment serving, excellent high quality good value produce, it can get very busy, especially on cold wet windy days, (of which Whitby has more than its fair share).
If you haven't been to Whitby, you must check it out, and a visit to Whitby is not complete without a Humble Pie.

Pros: Excellent Food, Good Quality, Great Value
