Lifesaver!

Used to buy a lot of organic legumes, nuts and seeds in big chucks from here. They have many healthy options for other types of items, too. I used to live in city center so a bit of a walk if you don't have a car, otherwise amazing.

Good variety and well priced.

We have an apartment with cooking facilities and we were looking for some things to cook given Inverness doesn’t have a huge number of vegan options. There are a lot of chocolates and frozen vegan food and cheeses. We bought a few things and I was impressed with the price. Nice staff and great range.

I’ve asked happy cow to update as they sell exclusively vegan and vegetarian products.

Everything a wholefood shop should be

Bulk bags or smaller amounts, dried pulses, fruits, cereals and nuts galore. Fridge and freezer products too. Gifts. Beer and wine. Chocolate and sweets.
Long-term staff that are invested in what they do.
Delivery in most of Highlands I think.
Open an account; spend a lot get a discount.

Pros: Cooperative , Supporting a local business , Ethically sourced

Vegan staples

This place has a good selection of vegan staples at fairly reasonable prices (especially when you buy in bulk). The fridge/ freezer selection isn't that great, but the canned goods in the front of the shop are good and the warehouse at the back has lots of goodies you won't find anywhere else in Inverness or the Highlands. They seem to remainder quite a few items whenever we've visited, too, so you can often pick up a bargain.

Tucked away on the edge of an industrial estate, this is walkable from the town centre, but worth checking the route online before you visit. Parking has never been an issue when we've visited, and they accept cards.

Pros: Range of vegan staples, Bulk-buy discounts

Cons: Quite hard to find, Poor fridge/ freezer selection

Hi Ho

Highland Wholefoods are outwith the main shopping areas of Inverness (Longman, turning opposite the college) but are worth finding. They have a front of store shop for single items, but they have a bulk warehouse in the back which you can buy from e.g. a dozen items, or several kilos of lentils.
Bulk shop and they have a rolling discount scheme for the more you purchase 10,20% etc
Easy parking, not open Sundays. Will try and source any item not in stock.
Well worth finding - your eyes will pop when you enter the warehouse (So much nice food)
Sell big range of organics including wine and beer
Nice staff

Pros: workers co-op, discounts bulk buy, easy parking

Cons: hard to find 1st time
