The food is awesome. Lots of vegan options. The people that worked there were so nice and helpful. I would recommend it to anyone.

Found this great little eatery thanks to HappyCow and Wow! Great service, excellent menu and everything is prepared fresh when ordered! Wonderful setting with the outdoor seating area and very friendly staff. Generous portions and fair prices. So great to finally have a real vegetarian option in Cape May. Way to go! Keep up the good work!

Pros: Healthy food at a great price, Friendly staff, Nice setting

A little expensive

I found Higher Grounds through HappyCow and checked it out on our most recent vacation. There must be some new staff working because when I asked about the menu being all vegetarian the young girl behind the counter told me that it wasn't. I was particularly interested in the turkey club and was told it was not vegetarian. Then when I asked our waiter about it he told me it was mock turkey and totally vegetarian. It was confusing, though I'm glad to hear the place is totally vegetarian.

The menu on the board and the paper menu don't quite match up, so it was tough to know what they were serving and not serving.

For two cups of soup and two sandwiches our meal cost $36. This seemed a little high compared to some other places I've been. The food was good, about what I would expect an average lunch to be, but not for such a high price.

Pros: Good Food
Cons: Unknowledgable staff, Too expensive, Confusing menu

Feeds the Need

This place is the quintessential coffee shop... One of a kind in Cape May and most likely of South Jersey! You feel at home and get served delicious nutritiuos organic healthy homemade fresh from scratch meals by the owner or a delightful daytimer. Great tunes, some vinyls even spun on occasion or random renditions on a guitar that has a permanent place in the commonspace amongst a library of used books waiting to be re-viewed. The free wi-fi, serene seating, pet passiviness and proximity to promising destinations makes it a well worth while visit in Cape May. Menu includes (cooked in iron pans not five feet from the public eye):
The Three Grilled Cheese on sprouted orgainc multigrian bread served with homemade soup du jour.
A dynamic delicious all organic salad with seeds, nuts, fruits fresh herbs and homemade dressing.
Vegan six bean chili with carrots, celery, corn and more
Organic hemp seed protein fruit smoothies
and an array of fair trade organic coffees, teas, kombuchas and more for bevs.

More than enough choices for any eater!
hope you check 'em out and feed the need for places like these!
