It's ok

I ordered the rice plate and it's fine. I personally found it completely flavourless, but it's ok in a pinch

Delicious Food & Supreme Pumpkin Flan

When I stayed in Hà Nội from December 2018 - January 2019, I came to Hieu Sinh each week. Their Mixed Noodle (with vegetables) was my favorite dish, and their pumpkin flan was the best I've ever had-- with the expected, smooth texture of jello when presented, and light and creamy once you eat it.

The food was so delicious that one afternoon, my partner and I ate a total of 6 dishes (3 each) with multiple pitchers of tea, and of course, flan. When we had ordered, the server cautioned that we were getting too much food-- but we felt hungry and finished every dish.

Fantastic lunch spot

Good for dinner if you are eating with friends, but fantastic for lunch. The "com suat" is 50 or 60k and has about 6 different items plus dessert. Also takeaway uses cardboard containers rather than polystyrene.

UPDATE: they now do mixed plates for dinner too (from 5pm), including dessert, so this is a great plate to get a full meal in a rush.

Pros: Cheap, varied plates for both lunch and dinner

Cons: Closed on Sundays

Yummy Food

Love this place. Everything I have had from the menu had been delicous. The fruit spring rolls and fried pineapple are both a lovely treat. Wpuld recomend the mixed rice noddle dish - it is fresh noodles with veggies, lettuce, herb and fake meat and a yummy broth, similar to bun ca.

Pros: Great Food Good Value

Sad that my fav restaurant Hiếu Sinh uses mock meat again

Sad that my fav restaurant Hiếu Sinh uses mock meat again : they has been cooking with gluten sausages since 2-3 months (recently)
(Vegan sausages in Vietnam are made from gluten and msg and other chemicals as well, these cheap products are mostly come from Taiwan and are quite dangerous. Mockmeat makes vietnamese people think about vegan diet just like a WEAK and wrong diet that encourages people to use fake food, and this kind of stereotype is limiting the vegan movement here. I hate mockmeat also because it is dangerous for vietnamese people 's health so please stop promoting this fake food.)

They put lots of sugar already in the food and now mock meat..

Hope that they will think about this and will stop using this kind of toxic and fake processed food..

HappyCow team needs to correct the description: now they serve faux meat too. This restaurant is no longer a mockmeat-free and msg-free place. Thank you HappyCow team!

No mock meat, great restaurant

no mock meat, just veggies which were grown from their own farm (I got this info from their staff)
Nice restaurant
will be back
I heard that they use lots of sugar instead of msg. Dont know if its white sugar or else?? I also found that they use soy sauce which contains msg like many other veg restaurants in Asia. :-((

Hope they will make some changes on this. A nice restaurant must not be ruined by these additives and toxic products.

Pros: no mock meat , nice staff , nice and lovely restaurant

Cons: sugar , soy sauce which contains msg

Friendly place

Interesting variety of food, menu not as extensive as some. Very friendly folks who speak English well. Very nice fresh crisp vegetables and salads. (Noticed honey tea for sale - not vegan? Didn't check ingredients.)

Pros: lovely fresh food, nice atmosphere and premises, friendly

Cons: less inexpensive than some, possibly not all vegan..?

Hieu Sieu

We came here on their opening day, excellent foods, asparagus was available, a nice thing to see on the menu. All were happy with the food and service. We have returned three times since and found the place still serving up good wholesome foods, asparagus and shitake.
More expensive than Loving Hut style, but it's affordable for Hanoians and western alike. Please try once.

Pros: 100% vegan, clean and spacious, friendly and some staff speak English

Cons: sometimes something is not available

Amazing place, great food

I've been finding a lot of the vegan places in Hanoi very heavy on mock meats, so tried this one out for something different. The food is very fresh, not too much oil, and great flavours. The dishes are original combinations. The staff speak English and are knowledgable, and everything is vegan. The price range is very decent for the quality of the food. I'll definitely be going back here again! Open from 8am-11pm, and they have vegan yoghurt so they're good for breakfasts :) They're a little far out but they're worth the trip.

Pros: All vegan and natural, Friendly staff, Healthy food, good flavours

Cons: A little far out from touristy areas
