Indian not too bad - Edit
I went here today while in surfers. I ordered take out, they had nice looking desserts. I found only a small selection of food ( possibly due to COVID) but what I got was nice. A mixed veg curry and samosa. The lady serving there says everything is vegan.

Mild indian food - Edit
Since the advent of COVID-19 Govinda's no longer offers a buffet.
Read moreThey have generous portions at reasonable prices, but the quality of the food is entirely dependent on who is doing the cooking.
Even the same menu items are cooked to the same recipe.
They have tea, espresso coffee and a juice bar, along with a delicious range of house drinks and scrumptious desserts.
I would recommend it even for coffee and cake.
Pros: Vegan desserts, Espresso coffee, Good value
Cons: No buffet, Food varies a lot depending who's cooking that day

Huge range - Edit
Not entirety vegan, but the vegan range is clearly labelled and there's a great selection. Prices are a little pricey for my liking, but amazing food nonetheless.

The food is all so straightforward and down to earth you honestly feel like you’re sitting in a house and lovely mum or grandma is trying to fatten you up 😂 highly recommend the buffet (you WILL go back for seconds)

Not good to me - Edit
I’ve only seen good reviews about this place and I don’t understand why. I’m not a picky eater, I love food trust me, but this place doesn’t deserve more than 2 stars: one because it’s all vegan and another one because it’s cheap.
Read moreAlmost everything was tasteless. The pesto pasta salad and was ok and the fried stuffs were almost good but only because it was fried and it makes everything taste a bit better. My boyfriend liked the sticky rice, I don’t like it so I didn’t try.
Curry and Dahl lacked spices. It was clearly a prepared curry/Dahl spices mix because it was just a bit spicy but I just couldn’t taste any typical curry or Dahl flavours behind it (all the actual spices that are used in those dishes). The pastas on the hot buffet I didn’t like, too much bad quality soy sauce and some were a bit dry. The shepherds pie was tasteless too, made with canned lentils, lacked spices and the mashed potatoes on top was barely holding itself. All the lentils and chickpeas etc were actually canned and because they were it was too cooked at the end. I don’t have anything against canned food when it’s a good one or at least well prepared. Some of the vegetables were clearly canned or frozen too, if not all.
The salad buffet was ok. It lacked spices too but they had some sauces that made everything a bit better and I should have eaten only on that one buffet.
Still, it’s all vegan and cheap! 2 good points
Pros: All vegan, Cheap
Cons: Mostly tasteless, Terribly lacked spices , Mostly canned vegetables and chickpeas/lentils

What an amazing place to eat! All you can eat for 14.95 with an array of choice. The lentil Dahl was the star of the show. The food is regularly topped up and is really fresh. The staff are very friendly.

Awesome - Edit
Went there today and I was so impressed. Delicious veggie curry, kofta, halwa and custard. Dahl- I’ve had better (I’m incredibly picky with Dahl) but thankfully because it’s a buffet you can try a small portion! My Omni husband loved the potato bake, potato pakora, brown rice and veggie curry.

An absolute 5 star establishment! - Edit
I was kindly given some vouchers for the all-you-can-eat buffet so with my vegan friend and a huge appetite, I was delighted to see what food was on offer. A huge variety of vegan food, with salads and desserts included. The staff were so lovely and the cozy space provided a very homely feel even though it got quite busy in the evening. Obviously, this place is no secret for being value for money with really delicious food.

100% vegan which is fab! We tucked into their gorgeous curries, amazing koftas and other tasty sides along with some tasty fresh salads! Also, go on Groupon! You can get an offer that includes a drink too! And cheaper than the already cheap price! 10/10! 😊

What lovely vibes! I purchased two All-You-Can-Eat Groupons ($12.00 each) and we each recieved a free mango lassi (amazing!). The food was just delicious, and the coffee is cheap too😄Would definitely go back, and 100% recommend. You'll leave feeling VERY full and satisfied. Also, the girl working out the front was extremely friendly.

Never been disappointed with the food here. Either a $15 all you can eat plate or a $12 single serve plate - can fit plenty on it so I'd say it's the best value and you don't over eat as is the risk with refills! Salads curries rice pasta potato bake and plenty sauces to choose from. The deep fried battered veg and kofta balls are great.

Lots of options - Edit
My bf loves salad so he was very happy that this place has like 4 salad options on the buffet with loads of dressings. I personally enjoyed the koftas and the pakoras lol. They had lots of stuff to choose from. We went twice and on one occasion they had a potato bake. They have a Dahl curry and lots of other stuff. Buffet is very reasonably priced.

We were so full after our dinner at Govindas! The food is delicious, there’s a nice atmosphere and friendly staff and all for $15! Rude and greedy - Edit
Used to eat here at least once a week for over a year until one day my partner was feeling ill and realised she couldn't eat the food she'd just paid for and the server wouldn't allow us a take away box or help us to come up with a solution.
Read moreThe end result was that the full plate of food we had paid for was left on the table wastefully. I tried my best to communicate with the girl working but she was rude and completely unsympathetic despite having served me multiple times. I will never come back to this place masquerading as a Krishna kitchen, which I suppose is for the best as I often felt heavy and slow after eating there.
A shame the owner obviously has no care for the experience of his paying customers.
Pros: Cheap
Cons: Rude, Unhealthy, Not very tasty
