Govinda's update: closed

We were in Swansea in early August 2013. Unfortunately, we found no trace of Govinda's; it must have closed. We recommend Dilwyn's Cafe at 1 Anchor Court in the Victoria Quay, Swansea Maritime Quarter, by the Community Canal Boat. The phone number at Dilwyn's is 01792 652665. We had lunch there twice. The cafe has a few tasty vegan dishes prepared with separate equipment reserved only for the preparation of its vegan dishes. The owner and wait staff are lovely and accommodating, and the baked goods (at least some of which do contain eggs and butter) are wonderful. We sat outdoors overlooking the marina, which added to our enjoyment.

Cons: This place seems to have closed.

Great price, great food.

A very reasonable price for all food on the menu with a couple of vegan options as well. Always enjoy the food here - the only shame is that there aren't more places like it in Swansea! Highly recommended.

Pros: good portion, nice food, great value

Fantastic Indian food!

Fantastic Authentic Indian food, but ofcourse just what you would expect from the Hare Krishnas, who cook and serve with love. Wish I lived closer! Seemed very popular too, but theres plenty of space, and very relaxing atmoshere. Reasonable prices.

Pros: excellant food, good value, friendly staff

The vegan cheesecake is AMAZING

Went here May 2008, great little place. Very friendly and helpful staff. Relaxed atmosphere, and wasn't crowded when I was there, but I feel that is because I was there at an off-peak time, I think it must get pretty busy at other times. Veggie burger was lovely, as was the homemade relish, and cous cous salad. Chips were ok, think they were the pre-frozen kind. Menu had an ok to good choice for vegans, and vegan stuff was clearly labelled on the menu.

The smoothies were absolutely scrumptious, but with out a doubt, the star of the restaurant was the vegan 'cheesecake'. If you are anywhere near I seriously recommend you try it. Heck, I travelled 100 miles round trip to try it, and it was worth it. Quite simply - it was *delicious*. Rich, decedent, morish.

Definitely worth dropping in.

Pros: Stunning vegan cheesecake, Good vegan options, Amazing smoothies
Cons: Portions could've been bigger
