The best Chinese food

This is the best Vegan Chinese food I ever had. I highly recommended. They call it vegetarian but the food we ordered was Vegan. We ordered the chichen with pea, rice with pork, beef and brocolli and Kung Pao. All vegan ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Delicious

I only went once to this restaurant and I loved it. The place was very clean and comfy, the people that works there, I assume are the owners, were really nice. We had two menus, which is a lot of food, and everything was really yummy. I loved the sweat and sour soup, their fried chicken and beef with mushrooms and veggies!

Pros: Tons of options , The menu price is awesome, Clean place

Cons: The matcha ice cream has dairy 🥹

Great vegetarian Chinese food

We love this place! We always stop here when we are in the area. A big menu with lots of choices, and it all tastes great! We especially like the sweet and sour chicken, Szechuan chicken, mushu vegetables and many other things. Friendly owners.

A new simplified menu, A new look, and new horizons

Sheri is continuing on with the help of Shauna and their loving community. After a tough loss, you’ll see that they are resilient and full of love. Go and you will be satisfied. Know that their heart is in every interaction and dish she makes. Be patient because this is family- the kind that you choose to support because its how vegetarians choose to live- with compassion and gratitude.

Good food, menu/communication needs work

I enjoyed my veggie chicken with black bean sauce! Very flavorful. The menu used to include ingredients and I wish it still did, because there was a miscommunication on what veggies were in my dish. The waitress first said peas, corn, and carrots, then asked the chef and told me broccoli, carrot, and mushroom. Then when I got the dish, it was carrot, mushroom, and green bell pepper 😂. Also, I wish the menu indicated what items are spicy. Mine was a bit too spicy for me (aka it had any spice) and if they had indicated it on menu, I wouldn’t have ordered it. I see older version of their menu online and it had the chili pepper pics. Also, note that prices listed online, even on their website, are very outdated. Dishes that used to be $6-8 are now $11-13 (I understand though, with pandemic, etc). Anyways, I say still support them because it’s a small family business with good food and it’s all veg! Btw, they brought back dine-in, but food is served in to-go containers and on paper plates 🤷‍♀️.

Pros: Lots of vegan options , Tasty food

Cons: Lack of ingredient clarity

Classic Chinese

Our go to for classic dishes. The wonton soup will cure what ails you. Small mom and pop restaurant. Please support as the husband recently passed. Let’s all show some love and keep them in business.

My Favorite Chinese Restaurant Anywhere

This place has the best Chinese food. I love that it's all veg/vegan. Huge menu and they'll also accomodate special orders. The only down side is the service can be very slow. But as long as you know that in advance, all good. Good things come to those who wait....

Pros: Consistenly good food, All order made fresh, Huge Menu

Cons: Service is SLOOOW whether you're eating in/to go.

Chinese as I remember it.

The food is savory, and the best I've had in a long time, deffinitely a contender for classic chinese american cuisine as I remeber it.

Pros: All Vegan/Vegetarian

Cons: A little to salty for those on a medical diet.

Pretty good!

I was craving some classic Chinese takeout and this place totally hit the spot. Everything on the menu is vegan which makes things super easy. The restaurant itself is a small, cozy, charming little place. Right now during this Covid situation, you can still order for pick up and it only took 15 minutes for my food to be ready.

Pros: The whole menu is vegan, Classic Chinese flavors, The chow mein

Cons: Not a fan of the cream cheese wontons

Slowest service in my life

I’m am a patient person and am understanding of small shops. The food is great but when I am seated and place my order and people who show up 20 minutes after me are eating their food before me I can not support this place regularly. The dining experience is why I come to a restaurant. Waited 40 minutes after placing my order to receive my appetizers and then another hour after receiving appetizers to get my entree. There was only one waitress on shift, they should definitely have people on front floor. Would like to see this place better staffed and updated, then I would come more often.

Pros: Yummy , Vegan, Lots of options

Cons: Slow , Under staffed

Great food and sweet service

I eat there a lot. The people who own it are really sweet. The food is fantastic. The dumpling soup is seriously good and I can’t speak highly enough of the “sizzling” dishes. And they have vegan cream cheese wontons!

If you value speedy service, this spot isn’t for you. But if you want to give your money to a family business with fantastic food, even if it is a little slower, this place is great.

Never disappointed

Been eating here for years and am always satisfied. The decor inside the restaurant reminds me of my grandparents house so I feel right at home. Favorite dishes are their orange chicken, kung pao duck, pork fried rice and beef with broccoli. Their dinner specials are also another go-to! Good deal with lots of options. I recommend their Hot & sour soup!

Pros: affordable, large portions for sharing , delicious

Cons: long wait time

Service is sooo slow but the food is the best I've ever had! It will make up for the slow time, plus the owners and waitress are so kind. Have the vegan cream cheese wontons! Trust me.

The Best Chinese Food I've Ever Had

The service is extremely slow. The inside hasn't been updated or fixed in decades. And yet this is still a 5 star review because the food and friendliness of the staff is the best around.

I haven't dined in the restaurant, but I have ordered takeout from Garden Wok 1-3 times per week since my first visit here 2 months ago. Yes the service is slow and they are short-staffed, and I'm fairly sure if you call in your order that they don't start making it until you get there, but there are plenty of Buddhist books in the waiting area for you to brush up on patience with while you wait for the best plant-based Chinese food.

Must haves:
1 - WONTON SOUP - I never thought I'd be able to have wonton soup again after going plant-based. Not sure what they put in these wontons, but I'd guess its a mix of crystal meth with a hint of cocaine because my wife and I can't go more than 3 days without coming back for more. The broth is great and they include lots of veggies in the soup (carrots, cabbage, onions and the most perfectly soup-cooked broccoli)

2 - Drumsticks

3 - Hot and Sour Soup

4 - Crispy Mushrooms

All the "chicken" dishes are great too, especially the fried options (Sweet and Sour chick, etc.) which have veggies mixed in and less of a mock-meat feel to them.

This chef is amazing and I wish there were locations everywhere. I don't love LA and won't live here much longer, and I dread the day I will not be near Garden Wok.

So much hype... just ok

Very slow service. Nice older man trying to do too much. Felt bad for him. Pleasant service. Curry was too salty and forgettable... Lettuce cups were good flavor... cashew chicken was very average at best.

Pros: Vegan
