This coffee shop is wonderful! The first vegan-friendly coffee shop in New Haven (Blue State has followed with 2 locations in the last couple years), this is in a charming building just past Wooster Square Park and 1 block over from all of New Haven's famous Wooster Street pizza. The first place I ever saw vegan cream cheese or a tempeh BLT on a menu! They do wonderful, simple breakfast sandwiches with cream cheese, tomato, cucumber, avocado, etc. Make sure you get your food to stay, open-faced. Pretty and delicious!
This is a cozy coffee shop that always has some sections of the NY Times laying around, and used to have a variety of board games though those have been disappearing over the last couple years. Coffee itself is great, both house and French roasts. And a couple of tea options are also pleasing. The staff are lovely tattooed & pierced people (I think it's a requirement!), please tip them!
Great New Haven Saturday morning: Fuel for breakfast & coffee, a swing through the City Seed Farmers Market (every Saturday May-December & every other Saturday January-April), and a stroll through Wooster Square Park. Couldn't be better!Pros: great coffee, vegan cream cheese!, cozy
Cons: can get quite busy
