Great vegan food!

There are many vegan options. We had the daily dosa, Brussels sprouts and spicy falafels. All were fantastic and good sized portions.

Pros: Lots of vegan options , Great taste, Nice server

Only realized the menu was all vegetarian on arrival

Had dinner alongside 3 omnivore friends who live in Taos but had never eaten there before (they picked it because of me). They had run out of the Indian meal (sad I was) but still had dal and a variety of other Middle Eastern options as well as a very tempting veggie burger. I had wonderful falafel and hummus and we all shared quite great fries and a wonderful carrot cake dessert. The others were all thrilled with their choices. Staff service was excellent. The interior was more than I expected. Cool but clever and quite welcoming all at once. All vegetarian and mostly vegan. A few dishes (the Israeli breakfast) have eggs, but everything clearly spelled out.

Never open

Tried to go here a few times during our stay in april. Was never open and nothing on the website stated unusual hours...what a disappointment

Best Vegan Option in Taos

I eat here regularly with my folks and love this place. While not strictly vegan, it is all vegetarian and super vegan friendly. Everything is fresh and delish ... beer too! Indian/middle eastern/mediterranean food ... all yummy.

Pros: vegetarian - super vegan friendly, consistently good, Taos

Cons: not 100% vegan, can be slow

Good Spot for Vegans

Relaxed casual place with good selection of vegan dishes. Had the whole eggplant with tomatoes and onions and pitas. Absolutely delicious! Their spicy falafels with tahini dressing is not to be missed.

Hits the spot

The falafel sandwich is what we came for. Hits the spot! A bit messier than others we have eaten. Friendly airy cafe style place with a pool table and a kiddie playroom. So much veggie choice in an area where there is little!

Pros: Totally veggie, Substantial choice, Portions just right

Cons: Not much wrong really

Easy eating

El Gamal is a stress free eating experience. The sampler platter can be made with 3 or 5 items. Recently I had it with Baba Ghanouj, Hummus, Dolmades, Falafel and Tabouli. There is a portabello sandwich that is great, and a few other things.

Pros: Great Food, Well priced

Really yummy

My family and I tried El Gamal when we were visiting Taos in early June. We all got the sampler plate and we were so glad we did. Everything was fresh and delicious.

Pros: Excellent food, Generous, helpful waitstaff, Good location

Cons: Confusing menu
