I had the yummiest meal here last night with a group of 9 friends. Yuka created a banquest specially for my farewell dinner. Edamame, soup, noodles, spring rolls, dessert. all highly recommended! The actual space is really cosy, homely and unique. I'll def be back again and again.Pros: healthy food, lovely interior, delicious food!
well, ive never been to Oz, but i met Yuka in Japan and she rules! and i made some little flyers for Discobeans when she was in Japan, so im sure it must be great!!!Pros: COOL, COOL, COOL
Cons: COOL, COOL, COOL
I love Disco Beans (the venue & the food)! As a Vegan, I find it very difficult to find Asian eateries that serve fresh, healthy, delicious, genuine, affordable and ...VEGAN food. Disco Beans is a mecca of all these things; it's family owned and run, the staff are so friendly, and the food really speaks for itself.
The food was beautifully arranged, incredibly fresh and crisp and the flavours balanced perfectly. I took my entire family there and everyone from my 5 year-old cousin to my 75 year-old grandmother loved their meals. The menu is varied and wholesome...but always delicious.
Recommended for; Vegans, Japanese food lovers, healthy eaters and anyone who enjoys interesting and delectable food!Pros: Genuine Japanese Food, So friendly & comfortable, Very well priced
Cons: A bit small
this place is amazing!
i was just walking down high street and was first struck by how beautiful and electric this cafe looked (i believe its a gallery as well)!and to my surprise it is a (mostly) vegan cafe!so i suddenly whipped up an appetite and ordered the the plate of the day which was tofu steak with vegan miso mayo and an amazing salad with cabbage pickle on brown rice ! sooo delicious and a traditional Japanese lunch spread which is very rare to get vegan even in japan!
then for desert i had the raw sugar free vegan chocolate cheesecake ...also really incredible and i ll confess after that i ordered YET ANOTHER CAKE !!! this time it was the pumpkin tart !! ooo it was so good it was topped with glazed mixed nuts and had soy ice cream on the side!
i totally recommend everyone visit !
its extremely well priced and healthy and so yummy!
already planning my next trip back with a group of friends !
this cafe looks so cool inside, the entire space is covered in crazy japanese junkmail art. The food is pretty cheap, especially for northcote area. everything on the menu is vegan except one dish!! the cakes are really good. they had raw chocolate cheezecake. i loved this place. the menu changes weekly, there is japanses soups and noodles, curry and for drinks that have organic raw hot chocolate, fair trade! loves it. loved it.Pros: awesome japanese food, home made, soul food style, cool atmosphere
Cons: not totally vegan, small menu choice, no coffee
