Upper Crust - Edit
A decent eatery run by the well intentioned in the city church. Probably the first of the new style trendy cafes in Belfast when opened.
Read moreNo evangelism present - I think these guys are a charismatic crowd, but not Calvinistic (no "total depravity" stuff, focus on sharing Gods love instead, ya dig), but cafe secular in aspect.
As other great places have popped up, within walking distance, the sheen has came off here a bit for me. Used to be a real treat for me, nipping out when working for the nearby evildoing Simon community.
Coffee decent, drinking vessels were at one stage all unique pottery but I think have mostly gone to heaven.
Suspended coffee and suspended soup are offered for those who can't pay, (someone else has paid).
For first few years vegan option non existant, a modified version of veggie "yum bowl" offered instead, which did the job OK but wasn't great. More offered as veganism gets more popular.
Wait times can be long at peak lunchtimes too.
Worth your time and certainly a noble endeavor, nice guys and decent all round.
