We eat a lot of traditional indian meals and this a a bit too spicy for our taste. Over all the price was good and if you are someone who prefers more spices than I highly recommend this. However if you prefer milder indian food this place isn't for you.
Stopped in today with my friend. The owner is super nice and even offered to let us sample some things before deciding. We ordered 4 dishes and an appetizer and shared. I probably won't take my kids back until they are older and can take the heat. An Indian patron told us this is one of the more mild restaurants in the area and we got the dish the owner said was the most mild. I love spice so I was fine.
We had the Vada Sambhar
Masala Dosa
Chole Puri
(And the 4th dish for the kids had chicken in it..)
The lentil donuts in the vada sambhar are really good!!
I love this place. The people there are so knowledgeable of veganism and even went over the menu with me and told me how they can modify things to be vegan. They have ladoo which is bomb and usually made with milk powder but here its cruelty free. And honestly the best indian food I've had in a while. The samosas are calling my name as we speak. And soooo affordable. If you're looking for vegan/veggie friendly food in Naperville this is the place
Located in a mall, it is a very inexpensive, surprisingly roomy veg place. The spicy stuff was sufficiently spicy, the food was flavorful. Not a place to impress a date but a great value!
I wrote a fantastic review of this place a few months ago and unfortunately, a bad experience means I have to take it back. Chataka Masti has affordable Indian food for lacto-vegetarians who like hot spices. it seems if you don't like the burn of hot peppers, you're SOL at any Indian restaurant in the United States, but that is another topic altogether. I happen to like hot peppers, so not an issue for me. My problem with Chataka Masti is they put dairy yogurt on a dish I ordered, after I specifically asked them not to. I know both people at the front counter understood me, yet someone must have not written it down because my order arrived absolutely doused in yogurt. The worst part is that a cow suffered and lost her baby to kidnappers for their "mistake" and that's what I despise much more than the health issues. I was VERY POLITE about the screw up but I will not ever go back there again. Sadly, they are the only vegetarian restaurant in a town of 150,000 people, which is downright pathetic. So you'd think they could get a vegan's order right. Wrong.
