good choices for vegans

I had the shakshuka, grated tofu in a bell pepper and tomato sauce. It was even tastier with the addition of their homemade spicy sauce. And there was good bread as well. We also enjoyed a breeze from the fans while sitting outside.

Vegan Oasis in Ramat Aviv!

I was very happy to find out that Cafe Louise has opened a new branch in Ramat Aviv, a neighborhood in north Tel Aviv which otherwise has little to no options for vegans. They offer many vegan options marked on the menu. I recommend the breakfast, salads, and wonderful paella, made with tofu, mushrooms and wild rice. For dessert try the vegan tapioca topped with fresh fruit or the apple crumble served with a nice vegan sorbet. There are also vegetarian options available. The cafe has mostly outdoor seating under big umbrellas; just a few tables inside. Definitely sit inside in the summer months unless you don't mind the heat. Informal atmosphere; suitable for a date or families. There is a little shop inside offering cakes and spreads, notably their own vegan garlic-lemon spread.

Nothing special

Typical trendy and popular Tel Aviv restaurant that serves large portions of imaginatively conceived but poorly prepared food. The chefs use far too much salt for my taste, but that can be said for the vast majority of Israeli restaurants. Inconsistent in my experience.

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Quiet attractive location

Cons: Food a little disappointing, Outdoor seating is too hot in the summer
