Limited, but good - Edit
They don't have many vegan options, but the ones they have are pretty good. I've had both the falafel and tofu sandwhich. Imo, the falafel one is better
Read moreThey sometimes have vegan sorbet.
Coffee is also good; they have a few different non dairy milks.
Pros: cute space, good prices, quiet
Cons: few options

Very bland and no good options - Edit
I stopped here with total of 6 people (2 vegan 4 not) and not a single person liked their food. We are not a picky group. The food was just very bland and unseasoned. I ordered a tofu sandwich and was told it would take at least 20 minutes to make because they don't keep tofu prepped. I ended up with a "falafel" that was basically bread. I'm glad they had something for vegans to eat but it's not really a good option.

Food was alright. Service lacked knowledge - Edit
Was happy to have an option. The person that took my order said she nothing was vegan, but then I asked what couldn’t be vegan in a tofu veggie hummus sandwich, and she had no clue. So I checked and everything was fine.

Didn’t get to try anything - Edit
Apparently the sandwiches aren’t made after 3 pm. Today they’re closing at 4 pm due to the weather. It’s cold and rainy…

A nice quaint place in the historic district. Pizza options include tofu. Sandwiches have portobello and tofu options.

Good tofu sandwich - Edit
Was about $8.50. But the only other vegan option they have is a falafel one (haven’t tried it). None of the other items (including all the baked goods) are vegan.

better than nothing - Edit
We take what we can get around here, but it isn't great. I have been here a few times. On my first visit, the clerk was not knowledgeable about vegan options and seemed completely uninterested in helping me figure it out. I was able to confirm that none of the baked goods are vegan.

ok, for the south - Edit
If I lived in a northern city with a lot of vegetarian options, I wouldn't even consider Cafe Louisa a vegetarian restaurant. But I since I moved from Chicago to Alabama my standards are different. They are probably one of the most vegetarian-friendly options in this part of Alabama. I guess that is kinda pathetic because they only have like two or three veggie or vegan sandwiches. But, it is better than nothing around here, so we go there a lot, and enjoy it.

Nice Little Cafe - Edit
Stopped here for lunch with an omni co-worker. Had a rather limited vegan selection, essentially hummus (sandwich? plate?) and a falafel sandwich. Falafel is not the typical style but instead is pressed and baked. Still tasty, and had the hummus (which was delicious) and sprouts and whatnot. Co-worker enjoyed her meat-based sandwich. Counter service was knowledgeable of what things were veg/vegan. Sadly of their broad pastry/dessert collection, none are vegan. Apparently they used to have a vegan option but the supplier they use discontinued the item (revealing that they do not make the items in-house). All in all, the food was good, but I'm not sure I'd be back - unless I was specifically looking to try the hummus, because it sure was tasty.

Worth the stop - Edit
Traveling from SC back to Texas in a car with a "meatatarian" was a concern til I logged on and found Cafe Louisa. Excellent food and service. we both found plenty of options. An easy location from the Interstate; off & back on the road in 30 minutes.
