Cafe Flore is one of those special finds, which I want to share with all. It is, as it's name suggests a cafe that not only serves fantastic coffee, by a beautiful barista, but does an absolutely amazing job with food! Slightly french, very chic, with a beautiful twist of Tin Tin on the side, the decor is very comforting and homely. It's hard not to be fascinated by the bar area, the colours and aromas wafting through, and a hint of the owner Alice plying his trade in the kitchen. The kitchen caters to most standard food requirements and I'm certain with notice, they can accommodate more demanding dietry requirements. Hiroshi Alice it seems is fulfilling his bistro dream, and doing a wonderful job. The salads really are very good, and I'm a sucker for good pasta dish as well. Hiroshi's home made ice creams are spectacular, and pared with Tamayo-san's beautifully extracted espresso's who could want for more?
The menu is largely western in it's make up.
I love Takayama, and I love Cafe Flore!
